We arrived not really sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised - the room was comfortable and clean - the bathroom was a little tired but adequate. We arrived not really sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised - the room was comfortable and clean - the bathroom was a little tired but adequate. The village is very pretty with an old mill and duck pond - enjoyed our walk. We ventured into the pub for a drink and then ordered our meal - the food was very good - I had whitebait followed by the prawn Thai curry and then a lovely lemon sundae with meringue and ice cream - We had a peaceful nights sleep. The breakfast was served by a lovely Thai lady called Rung - she was amazing and was also working the night before - we believe the Chef was the Landlord but this lady was definitely running the place ! We would happily stay again

We stayed at the six bells for one night. We were disappointed to find our room was very small and the bathroom tiny. The shower cubicle was too small to wash ourselves and we had to choose from either good pressure or warm water, not both! The hospitality tray only provided one type of tea or in… lisää

We stayed at the six bells for one night. We were disappointed to find our room was very small and the bathroom tiny. The shower cubicle was too small to wash ourselves and we had to choose from either good pressure or warm water, not both! The hospitality tray only provided one type of tea or instant coffee, also a small packet of biscuits would have been welcome. We would have expected more from a room that cost £112 per night. Apart from the disappointing room we had a good meal in the bar and the lady who served us was very friendly.

“If you come for Dads Army, you’ll be disappointed.”

We visited the pub due to the Dads Army connection in the hope that there would be some sort of memorabilia but not a thing! If I owned the place I would be jumping on the band wagon of it being used as a filming location for such a famous sitcom! Very disappointed really as such a fan of the show.… lisää

If I owned the place I would be jumping on the band wagon of it being used as a filming location for such a famous sitcom! Very disappointed really as such a fan of the show. That being said we only had a quick drink, the garden was beautiful, flower beds full of colour. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The letdown is definitely the interior, it definitely needs refreshing! Toilets were clean but also very tired. The food being handed to other customers smelled amazing! So I think we would return to try it.
