This has got be the most deserving 10/10 experience so hat’s off and thank you very much for a great overnight stay, only wish it was longer. Apart from the venue being stunning, what made the whole difference and experience was the staff. Everyone was so friendly, helpful, attentive and professional, it was an absolute pleasure to stay and thank you all to the staff who are so lovely. Yes, the accommodation is fantastic and yes the quality of food and drinks is exceptional, but by far what exceeded the excellence was how wonderful all your staff are. People make the difference and you have got it right. Well done, I would love to come back soon.

“Nice stay - shame the experience of the pool spoilt it.”

We had a really lovely stay overall; the hotel grounds are absolutely beautiful, with plenty of space to stroll and enjoy the scenery. We booked a leisure weekend break to make the most of the pool and spa facilities, but unfortunately the pool was a let down. It’s quite small, with only four loungers and two chairs inside. What should have been a calm, relaxing experience was far from it. A group of five women were talking very loudly, and another couple were also disruptive, the man repeatedly jumped and dived into the pool despite clear signage advising against it. It made it impossible to relax, and after about 20 minutes we decided to leave and sit outside instead, as the weather was nice. This was the biggest disappointment of our stay. On a more positive note, the restaurant staff were lovely and dinner in the evening was excellent. However, I did find it unusual that none of the side dishes were included in the DBB rate, especially as all mains required at least one side—this felt like something that should reasonably have been included.

“Poor Food Quality”

My wife and I were greeting warmly by Sarah on arrival, and shown to a beautiful room. This was a good start. However, upon exploring the hotel bar and seating area, the carpets were filthy and tables were not cleaned over. It was very obviously there was no supervising manager present, which was the case during our two night stay. There was no one giving direction or supervising the staff. The Spa was beautiful, clean and very well maintained. Highly recommend the treatments. We were aware of poor reviews with regard to the Hotel food before we travelled, and this was unfortunately our experience too. The food we ordered for our evening meal did not resemble what we got. It was cold and of poor quality, and way over priced for what we actually got. At breakfast we ordered hot food, but the Eggs Benedict with what was supposed to be 'Ham Hock' was awful. The Ham Hock was in fact processed slices of packet ham, which was not a representation of the menu description!! This hotel is in no danger of winning any food awards.

We booked this hotel as part of a birthday and wedding anniversary celebration getaway! The welcome from when we first walked into the hotel was good by the male staff member. We booked this hotel as part of a birthday and wedding anniversary celebration getaway! The welcome from when we first walked into the hotel was good by the male staff member. He was friendly, smiling and polite, checking us in and opening doors leading to our room. The reception staff are the first people you see when you walk into the hotel and makes an impact. He was great however the was another female staff sat with him who didn’t even look up or acknowledge us. Once checked in, we walked past the reception area numerous times to go to the bar, pool, walks and breakfast but the other staff members did not smile, acknowledge or greet any of us. Cameron from the bar was amazing! He worked hard tirelessly, at times taking orders, making the drinks and serving alone. He still advised about drinks options and wine choices. A true asset! There are good food options at the restaurant and bar however we found that the good especially the mushroom gnocchi was very bland. The spa was very nice and clean. Not enough space for more loungers, but chairs available to put your towels down when in the pool. Steam room and Sauna available too. Small area but adequate. Breakfast was good with lots of variety. There was one staff member who took all orders and served the food too. Unfortunately she forgot or was delayed with our basic orders, like coffee and milk. She did a good job for someone who was managing everything alone.
