Stayed here for 1 night with my partner , due to a maintenance issue within our room that couldn't get resolved we were offered another stay on our previous visit in January which was sorted by one of the managers Hannah who was so understanding and a credit your team. We stayed in the roof top suite which was amazing and just as nice as our previous room that we stayed in. We made use of the hydrotherapy area which is an additional charge of £39 each we have decided in future we wont add this on as we both felt it was a lot of money for 2 hours and as it was quieter than last time we were able to enjoy the pool and Jacuzzi which is free to resident's. My only disappointment was our booking at La blaireau being cancelled the day before we were due to attend for dinner , not only because this was a fantastic restaurant but we had this booked for a while but apparently it had shut a few days before we got notified i even had a booking to confirm our attendance there 3 hours before we got emailed to say this restaurant has shut , due to this we were offered another restaurant within the place however neither of them we wanted to go to due to the choices in food so opted for a place 10 minutes walk away. Breakfast was nice and service was quick. The service around the whole hotel was amazing nothing was too much trouble and everyone was so warm and inviting. Overall we loved both our visits even with the issues we had on our previous stay and will be back soon , thank you!

“Great two night break”

Just got back from a two night break and I want to say how much we enjoyed our stay. All the staff were very attentive and pleasant. The room was great with plenty of space and a modern bathroom. Just got back from a two night break and I want to say how much we enjoyed our stay. All the staff were very attentive and pleasant. The room was great with plenty of space and a modern bathroom. The gym and pool were nice to use as a wake up before a really apertising English Breakfast. The gym is worth an additional mention, if that's your thing. Whilst (like most hotel gyms) it is compact, it is full of modern Technogym equipment, so something for evryone. If you are looking to book an all-star, sparkling new hotel, then this is probably not for you. But if you want a hotel with character, pleasant staff and in a perfect location for the New Forest and South Coast then you should give this hotel serious consideration.

“3 Star hotel for 4 star prices”

I want to start by saying we did have a lovely stay at Careys Manor and the staff were all very friendly & helpful. What let it down was the price point. We have stayed at a lot of spas & similar places but unfortunately the cost of this one means that you expect more than you get. We decided not to book the spa as an extra & went with the garden room which was £292 because we were happy with just being able to use the pool & sauna. For that kind of price the room is nothing special & like other reviewers have mentioned it could do with updating. If we had paid closer to £200 I would have definitely given more stars. I think it is more like a 3 star hotel trying to be a 4 star. But as I mentioned, we did have an enjoyable stay, I just wouldn’t go back at that price. There were 6 loungers in the pool area which we were lucky to grab 2 of and the jacuzzi was nice & warm. The steam room was a bit strange as all plastic seating and also the steam came out from under the seats & actually burnt my legs - another guest came in after me & the same thing happened to him. We ate dinner at Le Blaireau which again was very nice but on the costlier side. The Neigh Bar was a nice place to sit but again expensive, £15 for a Pimms is a lot! We checked out & went for a walk then came back for our afternoon tea which we had already paid for at check out. They were very accommodating to our dietary needs (vegetarian) but it took 45 mins for our food to come out. Our booking was at 2pm, we arrived at 2.05pm, seated at 2.15pm & food served at 3pm. We were hoping to have let by 3-330pm for our journey back. At the end of the booking we were charged £31.50 despite me telling the staff that we had paid already. They were very polite & said if I have paid twice then just ring back but I was pretty convinced.They went to ask reception & said they said we hadn’t paid so I paid as requested. I then checked my bill from check out which I had left in the car & had indeed already paid. I had to go back to reception to check I hadn’t confused the payment & was told (& apologised profusely to) that I had indeed already paid. They couldn’t refund the £31.50 which was paid in the restaurant so ended up refunding £28 from the original booking (which I’m hoping has gone through!) I honestly didn’t have time to worry about the additional £3.50 which I was told was for the service. We ended up not leaving til 4.15pm. It was sorted out & receptionist was lovely so it’s not a big deal but it just gave it more of a 3 star rather than 4 star feel. The afternoon tea itself was very nice & you can’t complain for £28 (2for1) so I guess these niggles are just that. I would have been more annoyed if we had paid £56! The breakfast had a good selection and the hot food to order was included (I wonder if this has changed since reviews have said it was an additional charge & the menu has prices on). The location is great & very easy to walk to places from Overall, a lovely stay but it is a bit on the high side. Hoping this will be taken as constructive criticism & not a complaint!
