We stayed here on Saturday 27th December 2025 for a Fawlty Towers Comedy Dining event. I was very impressed with the hotel in general, far better than I had expected, looked to be fairly recently renovated, clean and tidy. My only complaint would be the bed was far too soft which did stop us from having a restful sleep, had it not been for that, this review would be 5 star. We did mention the soft bed to reception on checking out, the staff member acknowledged us but said nothing more, nor apologised. In terms of the Fawlty Towers Comedy Dining event, I have to say the cast were fantastic and the show was very entertaining. The event included an afternoon tea, which was lovely although we would have appreciated less cakes and more savoury items. Then we had a three course evening meal which was very nice, tomato soup starter, with chicken supreme main followed by profiteroles for dessert. The following morning included the standard breakfast. The Fawlty Towers cast intermingled with guests during each part, they were very witty and stayed in character having conversations with the comedy experience guests. I did tell Basil, that my bed was too soft and he offered to provide me with a plank of wood for my next stay! Cybil was much more understanding offering to arrange a massage, much to Basil's disgust! the only other issue was "the escaped hamster" that belonged to Manuel running around our room (please note this is not real just a joke within the show) Basil kept telling me not to speak of the hamster whenever I mentioned it, which of course made me mention it even more LOL Overall if anyone is considering booking the Fawlty Towers Comedy dining event, I would say definitely book it, you won't regret it. Just remember to ask for a plank of wood if you dislike soft beds!

Did witness a tall blonde girl cleaning the table and setting it back up She dropped a paper napkin on the floor and picked it up and used it… I was shocked Would I stop here again when passing through definitely good value for money £59 for a Sunday evening with breakfast pre booked
