“Great little find”

Beautifully decorated and very clean room and bathroom, perfect for a nights stay. Bed is very comfy. Great location as only a few minutes walk from main shops etc but far enough not noisy. Would definitely return when coming back to Dartmouth.

Last year we stayed in room 2, it was immaculate and perfectly located, so we booked again and opted for room 1, the more expensive room with a balcony but in comparison, it was disappointing. Last year we stayed in room 2, it was immaculate and perfectly located, so we booked again and opted for room 1, the more expensive room with a balcony but in comparison, it was disappointing. The access into room 1 was via a set of double patio doors. I assume, as you walk straight in from the outside, this is why the carpet is grubby. There is no lobby, like there is to room 2. Guests accessing rooms 2&3 walk directly past the double patio doors to room 1, so it’s not private. There is a sheer curtain that can be closed when you are in the room to let in the light and heavier curtain for privacy but that blocks the light. The private patio is accessed from the room by a different set of doors, again you walk straight in/out to carpet. There is no sheer curtain to this set of doors, so if the heavy black out curtains are open, the room can be seen into by neighbouring properties. For privacy the heavier curtains need to be drawn, allowing no light. The decor is tired, the painted walls are marked, there are a few cobwebs on the ceiling and the carpet is grubby from two sets of doors that walk directly to the outside. The private patio is not tidy with weeds growing. There’s only one chair and a couple of hard wire stools, not suitable for a couple to sit out and have a drink. The shower doors don’t meet at the bottom so water sprays onto the bathroom floor. The tiled floor would benefit from a bath matt, otherwise it’s slippy from the water. We had to use a towel which left us short. We caught the cleaner and she was happy under the circumstances to provide us with another. For a more expensive room (as it has a small patio), it is awkward (privacy and light) and doesn’t compare to the cleanliness and functionality of room 2, that we stayed in last year. Really disappointed. The location in the town is perfect, it’s very close to all shops and amenities.
