A lovely hotel with helpful staff in an amazing location. We had dinner on the first night and afternoon tea on the second day. Food was tasty on both occasions with service prompt but unhurried. A lovely hotel with helpful staff in an amazing location. We had dinner on the first night and afternoon tea on the second day. Food was tasty on both occasions with service prompt but unhurried. The welcome drink ( Burgundy) and nightcap in the library (Madeira) were both delicious. Breakfast was well laid out with a good supply of yoghurt and cereals. The hot breakfast was a little minimal (only 5 items) although there did seem to be some sort of 'secret menu' which those in the know could request, perhaps items from the room service breakfast menu which was much more lavish. We had a lovely stay and would certainly visit again.

Excellent little hotel. We arrived and reception staff helped us park in the reserved parking space and then brought our luggage in. Excellent little hotel. We arrived and reception staff helped us park in the reserved parking space and then brought our luggage in. We were checked in with no problems and then given a tour of where things were, what activities the hotel lay on like drinks in the library at 9pm for a nightcap. We had been upgraded to a bigger room which was beautiful having two views, one of the river and the other of Hampton Court Palace. The room was well appointed and the king sized bed was very comfortable. We chose this hotel as we went to Hampton Court Palace the next day. In the evening we ate in the hotels Brasserie which was very nice and we were given a complimentary welcome drink too. We’d highly recommend this hotel for attentive staff, excellent accommodation, great place to eat, reasonably priced and it is in such a beautiful location. If you’re planning a trip to Hampton Court Palace then The Mitre is the place to stay!! Also, just like to say a huge thank you to Peter who attended us from reception for being an amazing host and really made us feel welcomed.

Just returned from a fantastic weekend away in Hampton Court staying at the Mitre Hotel. The hotel itself is exceptional and possibly one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The Hotel was clean, tastefully decorated and in a great location directly opposite Hampton Court Palace. We got upgraded to the King Henry suite which was Phenomenal. The room was spotless, and beautifully decorated. There was a lovely view of the Thames and Hampton Court Palace and although the room was on the road side I slept like a baby. Every member of staff that we spoke to throughout our stay were super welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was perfect and the boathouse where breakfast was served had a beautiful view of the river. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to visit Hampton Court.

“Weekday Lunch, Not Done Properly”

Went to 1665 Brasserie for lunch as a set lunch main course for £12 is offered on the website but when we got there we were given the a la carte menus with no mention of the set lunch. Went to 1665 Brasserie for lunch as a set lunch main course for £12 is offered on the website but when we got there we were given the a la carte menus with no mention of the set lunch. When we asked about it we were told of the three dishes, they had run out of one (the plaice fillet) and only one portion of Cumberland Sausage was left. So that left only the curry on offer for our party of five. This was by 1pm! So we ordered from the a la carte menu.....The rye bread with my smoked salmon starter was rock hard and inedible, and my husband's fish and chips disappointing. The fish was a thin portion in thick dark batter and seemed like a frozen product. But the staff and service were lovely and overall we enjoyed the lunch, mainly because of the setting by the river.
