Excellent value, although luggage up and down steep stairs at the entrance is a challenge. After that there is a lift. The room was spacious, quirky, and shabby chic. Staff helpful and considerate. Breakfast outstanding.

We were 3 friends on a weekend away and they were able to provide us with a triple room, so a good start! It's well situated - roughly halfway between St David's station and the city centre - 10-15 minutes walk in each direction. The bed was comfortable and the rooms were quiet (it's an older building so thicker walls?). Breakfast was great - fresh, plenty of choice and provided with a smile! All in all absolutely everybody we came into contact with was so helpful and friendly. ..And having left something behind, the management made it very easy and efficient to get it back to me through the post! Would definitely recommend!

“Adorable characterful hotel, superb breakfast and lovely staff”

We stayed at this lovely little hotel on two different occasions n September and we loved it - it will be my first choice whenever visiting Exeter in the future. We stayed at this lovely little hotel on two different occasions n September and we loved it - it will be my first choice whenever visiting Exeter in the future. It is great value; you get a characterful hotel, with super breakfast and friendly staff, at a good price. On checking-out on our first stay, I said that we adored the hotel and would re-book again for a few weeks time and the man on Reception kindly offered a generous loyalty discount then and there. On our 2nd stay, which was also super, we had the breakfast and were blown away by the amount of choice....in the cold section alone you could top your fruits and yoghurt with every type of nut imaginable, from pistachios to brazils or almonds. And the fruits? We had blueberries and strawberries, not a cost efficient chunked apple or piece of sloppy tinned fruit in sight! Last minute we decided we'd like to stay on an extra night, but sadly the nice man on Reception wasn't there to offer the generous loyalty discount we'd been given the night before, so we came home instead.
