We stayed here for the first time through the InnCollection who we do love booking through. We were greeted by a very friendly team upon checking in. My partner booked a LakeView room and it was absolutely stunning with its own balcony, perfect for Summer evenings. The room was beautifully decorated and extremely clean and spacious. We could not fault this at all. The food was great and served within a very reasonable time too. We were only a very short walk from the lakeside which was lovely to be able to stroll there within each reach. We could not fault anything whatsoever about our stay and would definitely recommend to anyone. Can’t wait to come back. Thank you for making our stay just perfect.

The food was tasty, with some extra specials on too. The hotel is very fog friendly and ours was made to feel so welcome! We had a great experience and would definitely recommend it!

The Ullswater Inn is situated in the centre of the village. Although it has a car park to the rear, it is very small, so don’t anticipate getting a space. The Ullswater Inn is situated in the centre of the village. Although it has a car park to the rear, it is very small, so don’t anticipate getting a space. The public car park is directly opposite and, out of season, there is plenty of free street parking. Check in was welcoming and efficient and our room was spacious and smart and has a lakeside view. As is the case with all hotels in this group, the public rooms are all stylish and very smart. We had dinner on both nights and, generally speaking, the food was very good. The liver dish was perfection on a plate, and the lasagne was also top class, although the portions were huge! A point I would raise re these dishes is the descriptions of the mashed potatoes. The “bubble and squeak” and the “champ” were wrong, and were simply mash with greens on the side. The only dish that disappointed was a pepperoni pizza, which surprised me as I have enjoyed the pizza at other Inn Collection hotels. This one however had very little tomato topping so just tasted of cheese, and the pepperoni was thinly scattered and not cooked enough to colour it and release the oils. In short, this was a pale pizza that simply hadn’t been in the oven long enough. I’ll assume that it was a one-off. Breakfast service here is a wee bit unusual in that they have a hot buffet, which is fine, but guests should note that you can also order your food from the menu. This is what we did and our eggs Benedict on the first morning were perfect, as were our eggs Royale on the second. One thing I would suggest re breakfast however is that the hotel should provide a fresh fruit salad, which is neither difficult nor costly to prepare. It is also a standard in most hotels and a bowl of tinned peaches really doesn’t cut the mustard as a substitute. Service throughout our stay was efficient and very friendly.
