The hotel exceeded really every standard. outstandingly nice location, yet outstandingly noteworthy experience. amazing nights, never average. returning immediately, planning plenty longer escapes.

We had a great experience and would happily stay here again.

“A hotel with character”

Went here for the first time as saw close to cartmel races so I could see Kaiser Cheifs live. I looked at reviews and pictures before booking, as I prefer an older hotel I booked. Went here for the first time as saw close to cartmel races so I could see Kaiser Cheifs live. I looked at reviews and pictures before booking, as I prefer an older hotel I booked. Glad I did my research first, as once booked the hotel kindly sent a message advising to pre-book a taxi if going to the races with local taxi number, this was invaluable as I saw people having to walk in the heat. Thanks to the thoughtful staff who sent this. It was such lovely weather over this weekend, but the hotel kept high standards and everyone I met was friendly and helpful, from reception to bar to restaurant staff, they did not show how uncomfortable it must have been working in this heat. The staff had taken the heat into account, as iced water was next to the reception desk for guests, such a thoughtful gesture. The room had a lovely feel to it with dark furniture which fitted this hotel perfectly, the room was lovely and clean. I even got a cheery hello from housekeeping staff I walked past. The grounds are beautiful and it was delightful walking around the woods at the hotel. Only a short walk into the village. Great location. I can not find a bad thing to say about my stay, such a well kept old building with staff who make you feel welcome and of course a resident peacock! If you want a modern hotel this is not for you, if you prefer a hotel with character and friendly staff this is the place for you.

“Nice and relaxing break”

Wonderful location. Very picturesque part of the country. The hotel itself had a nice vibe and the peacock was an added bonus. The tea, coffee, milk and biscuits were topped up daily. Wonderful location. Very picturesque part of the country. The hotel itself had a nice vibe and the peacock was an added bonus. The tea, coffee, milk and biscuits were topped up daily. We were very disappointed with the room we were first allocated. Far too small to be classed as Superior. We were moved to a much better room which still had the view over Morecambe Bay we had booked. Grange over Sands is a lovely little town with a great pie shop. Well worth a visit.
