Hotel. Its old world traditional charm never disappoints. I the staircase with its stained glass window is fascinating. The staff are always helpful, don’t mind me asking for extra teabags, milk etc. There is a good choice at breakfast; porridge, cereals, fruit (always have some prunes) as well as an excellent selection of cooked bacon, sausages etc. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds really comfy. The car park is large and free, we just park the car and forget about it while we explore Harrogate.

My partner and I have just enjoyed a 4 night stay The Cairn Hotel where the staff are very friendly and helpful. On arrival we were very pleased to find plenty of parking and the entrance into the hotel is very imposing, leading to many beautiful, elegant rooms. The breakfast menu has won awards and deservedly so for the amount of choices available. Evening meals can be booked in the dining room but the bar also offers a range of meals. Our room was large and comfortable but the only disappointment was the bathroom which was definitely in need of updating. Whilst it was nice to have a bath it was a shower over a bath and there was a tiled area which jutted out blocking half the length of the bath restricting access which made it difficult for anyone with mobility problems. Another plus for The Cairn Hotel is that there is a very good bus service directly outside which makes it very easy to get around the area. All in all, we found it very good value for money and would definitely visit again.

“A tired & dated hotel stay but very pleasant staff”

Booked this hotel for 1 night I was visiting the flower show. It was a really good price with breakfast & close proximity to the town centre with free parking.( plenty of parking spaces. Booked this hotel for 1 night I was visiting the flower show. It was a really good price with breakfast & close proximity to the town centre with free parking.( plenty of parking spaces. The room I had was very tired & dated but given the price I had paid it was to be expected. The bathroom was in need of some cosmetic repair.we found the room extremely warm & could not open the window ( needed repairing so it had been locked) so we had to open the bathroom window & leave the door open. Given the condition of the room, it was very clean and the beds & pillows were comfortable. The rooms are not sound proof & you can hear quite clearly people walking along the corrridor. The staff were attentive & pleasant . The breakfast was good , we did didn’t have an evening meal so cannot comment. All in all if you just need a basic room with no frills parking & breakfast plus a 3 min walk to the centre at a very cheap rate then it ticks the boxes.
