I had a fantastic experience at Hampton by Hilton in High Wycombe, and a big part of that was thanks to Chris. From the moment we met, he was incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. His sense of humour really stood out…….he had a great way of making guests smile and creating a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Chris is a real credit to the team: professional, approachable, and genuinely caring about guests’ experiences. It’s rare to come across someone who goes the extra mile so naturally. He truly made my stay more enjoyable, and I hope his efforts are recognised.

“Great room! Service Experience Gaps”

We had a great room with all amenities and comfort. The hotel was perfectly located for us! Parking is chargeable but reasonably priced and convenient. We had a great room with all amenities and comfort. The hotel was perfectly located for us! Parking is chargeable but reasonably priced and convenient. We arrived early and the receptionist kindly stored our bag. He was somewhat dower and appeared unfriendly. Unfortunately most of the frontline staff were similarly quite miserable going about their work. At breakfast one server was quite rude when I asked where I could find the coffee, shouting back “round the corner, round the corner!” Which corner I wondered. An hour before breakfast was due to close, the same impolite server said there were no pastries left, similarly there was hardly any bread, rolls, no marmalade or trays. These are really simple things to get right and mean a lot to guests! Hence only 4 stars.

“Disappointing Second Visit.”

Location handy for M40 and Waitrose but very little else. Some seating in main reception area starting to look a bit shabby. Breakfast quality not particularly good. Location handy for M40 and Waitrose but very little else. Some seating in main reception area starting to look a bit shabby. Breakfast quality not particularly good. Some hot items were cool and we wondered if the scrambled eggs were made from powder. The main food menu was expensive for what was on offer and, based on our view of breakfast, we decided not to eat here. Super-king bedroom was very clean and comfortable with tea/coffee tray restocked each day. Good soundproofing. Lovely large walk-in shower. Fluffy towels. Being Hilton Honours Silver Members we were disappointed this was not recognised on check-in and we had to ask for our complimentary water. We booked to stay here based on a previous visit however felt that standards were not as good and the food overpriced.
