“Basic comfort, and a long walk”

We arrived at the hotel and were helped with the self check-in, which was smooth. We received our room number and key, and started on our way there. We walked, and walked, and walked. We were on the ground floor, walked past the 400’s, past the 300’s, to the 200’s. Room 203 is the 2nd furthest from reception and the restaurant. If you are on the ground floor, try for a room in the 400’s. Aside from that, the stay was great. The food in the restaurant is basic, but good; and the view over the runway is always entertaining. The Sports Bar has what was needed, drinks and 3 TV screens with different sports. The room is squeezy - I put my case on the chair - but has a comfortable bed, a decent shower and a TV with a lot of channels (but many did not work). Its location, near LHR T5, was why we were there. The pods cost £16.50 for two, which is less than an Uber, avoids the traffic, and was fun! Overall, a basic but good place to stay.

“Extra charges to park your car.”

Due to a very early flight we booked the Thistle as it was extremely close to the Heathrow. We were not aware that it would cost £18 just to,park our car for 8hrs with only 1 disabled parking bay - which we could see . I am blue badged so that was a struggle to start with. No lift available… lisää

Due to a very early flight we booked the Thistle as it was extremely close to the Heathrow. We were not aware that it would cost £18 just to,park our car for 8hrs with only 1 disabled parking bay - which we could see . I am blue badged so that was a struggle to start with. No lift available to trek to our room - which I managed after a while to get to our room. We then headed straight out to the Aviator Sports Bar - and the food was lovely. Settled back in our room we had no working TV/air conditioning (menopausal) and the fridge was also pretty warm. I needed to put my insulin in the fridge. We called reception and within minutes the young maintenance guy came - Sevaile. He replaced the batteries in both remotes for the TV & AC but couldn’t fix the fridge - was not his fault.,a cheap fridge and would not get any cooler Sevaile was extremely helpful and apologised for the inconvenience. Hubby went back to the car and placed my insulin in there. The room was clean and to a good condition. I feel £18 to park was unreasonable and also limited BB bays.
