Stayed here recently in July and we were very impressed with this hotel. Staff were all excellent , welcoming and very accommodating during our short stay there. A special shout out to housekeeping and the young lads who were waiting on in the breakfast room. We stay regularly at St Anne’s and Lytham and this was our first time in this hotel. Will definitely return and would recommend this fabulous hotel.

“Disappointing”

We stayed for 2 nights 19th and 20th July. We had a deal for the Sunday which gave us a 4 course evening meal and breakfast for both mornings. We stayed for 2 nights 19th and 20th July. We had a deal for the Sunday which gave us a 4 course evening meal and breakfast for both mornings. I booked it because we stayed previously in 2023 and it was marvellous. Normally I would pay for an upgraded room but as it was 2 nights I didnt bother. The hotel was clean throughout and most of the staff were really nice. The room was very small, with a view of the fire escape and a blank wall. As the weather was good it was stifling. The worst part was the bathroom. Really tiny, our downstairs loo is bigger, but the shower was tiny. It had a concertina door, which didn't go fully back, and if you did manage, it turned off the shower. My husband is 6ft so it was difficult for him. Even I struggled and am only 5ft 3. There were blinds in the bedroom and the bathroom, I'm not convinced, particularly with the bathroom that they actually covered our modesty. There was a nice dressing table and a chair,, but it was too dark to put my make up on, with no light. I had to do in the bathroom, but as no shelf I had to carry everything over to the sink. The evening meal on the Sunday was excellent and the price of drinks not too bad. The breakfast however was poor, only 2 types of juice, only one of which I liked, I normally start with yoghurt and fruit salad, all tinned, and only choice was prunes, which I dont like, orange segments which I do, and grapefruit which I love but am not allowed to have because of prescribed medication. The cooked items again were poor. Tinned tomatoes horrible sausages which only my husband had, and I got decent bacon but my husband's was overdone. There used to be a beautiful grand piano which played in the background most evenings. It's just an electric one now. The pool was excellent and I sat out in the rear courtyard which was nice. As with most hotels in the area parking is limited. We got a place and just left it there throughout our stay, tucked away right at the far side, but on our last afternoon before going home the following morning, we were blocked in by the coach only being able to open our boot. There were also cars parked across the entrance so blocked in all around. The hotel has clearly been taken over by a company and I will never go again. Too stressful. Not what it was, and totally disappointing. We go to Lytham alot for a few days break as its only 25 minutes from home, and there are lots of places where we have stayed time and again. Sadly the Clifton Park will not be among them
