“A great choice for a winter stay in West Mersea”
We decided to stay here just for one night while looking around Mersea Island and so glad we did. The pub is right next to the sea front and looks over the harbour area and across to the Dengie peninsula - an amazing view. “A most comfortable and enjoyable 2 night stay.”
The double front room with sea views and balcony was exactly what we were hoping for. Very clean, warm and cosy. Meals were first class and all staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. “Top-notch Sunday lunch”
Excellent Sunday roast today. Between us we had pork, beef and chicken. All perfectly cooked and seasoned. Cauliflower cheese was also just right...al dente and great flavours...and we're picky. “An amazing hotel in an amazing location.”
The room we had wasn't available when we arrived, the staff were very appologitic and gave us an upgrade to an amazing room/ maisonette it was immaculately clean, some areas of the wall paper let it down and the carpets were stained but it didnt take away from the great stay for my birthday. “Comfortable stay”
Glad we booked a balcony room as it was very pleasant to sit out on to watch the boats and sunset with a glass of wine.
