First stay and absolutely superb! “Would stay again but it’s not the Ritz”

Booked this hotel as a cheap base for me and 12yo son to explore the area. For us it was ideal. Booked this hotel as a cheap base for me and 12yo son to explore the area. For us it was ideal. I knew booking this type of hotel for a few midweek nights in school hols meant it was likely to be quiet, and it was. We had a twin room and the layout is clever for a bit of privacy, beds were comfortable and bathroom fine - good water pressure and temp and nice to have a bath. Is it the Ritz? No, but for the price we paid our only other option was a shed on a campsite - this was far above that lol Bed linen seemed clean but room not meticulously cleaned - bits of biscuit and teabag wrapper left from previous occupant left in the tea tray (in a compartment not easily visible I’d concede) was there on arrival and still there next day despite beds having need made so someone clearly came in! Not brilliantly sound proofed rooms, telly next door easily audible and doors shutting etc could be an issue at busier times for some. I sleep listening to audiobooks so less of an issue for me. We opted for breakfast and it was fine for price paid, gave us reasonable choice for breakfast and kept us full til early afternoon. Plenty of parking, and location quiet at night away from roads, easy to get around MK and Bletchley (what we were in the area for). Would I stay again? Yes. 4 stars is based on comfort and value for money - for ref we paid £65 a night including breakfast for two in the school holidays in a quiet week. Given ease of location, parking, reasonable breakfast, comfy beds, decent water pressure, I’m happy to overlook the odd issue like a biscuit left behind, a stain on the carpet or the telly not working (forgot to mention that. Didn’t use it so not a problem for us, tbf didn’t try that hard to get it working). Hopefully his review will help you guys!

“Clean and Functional”

Bedrooms basic but clean and functional, bar area nice and the breakfast in the morning was outstanding. It is a conference centre so caters for that but the staff were helpful and it was cheap place to just get your head down.
