Stayed here for the last two nights of a 60th Birthday holiday celebration, after returning from a few days on the Isles of Scilly. Stayed in one of the Four Poster rooms, which had a panoramic view of the seafront/promenade and a seating area (the room itself was very large and I spent a lot of my spare time just looking out of the window:). The hotel had an air of sedateness and a slight old-fashioned feel (emphasised by the pianist in the foyer on the Saturday night!) which added to the allure of the place. You don't get many places like this any more. The breakfasts were served in the ballroom and the evening meals/lunches in the hotel's restaurant, both of which had great views also. The quality of the food and service was very high, with the serving staff particularly helpful and pleasant. All of the staff here were very helpful and friendly (reception/housekeeping/restaurant). This all added to a very pleasant stay before my return back to Brum. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

“Great value!”

Got a same-day reservation and was surprised at the great value for b& b. My "single room" was actually a small double, and was upgraded to a sea view. At the Queens a sea view cannot be bettered, it is a wide view of glorious Mounts Bay. Even the en suite was sizeable with a bath and full size bas… lisää

Got a same-day reservation and was surprised at the great value for b& b. My "single room" was actually a small double, and was upgraded to a sea view. At the Queens a sea view cannot be bettered, it is a wide view of glorious Mounts Bay. Even the en suite was sizeable with a bath and full size basin - something you dont often get in smaller rooms. Yes, this hotel could be redecorated, but I had space, a comfy bed, quality towels and quiet bedroom ( apart from the sound of waves, of course!!). Breakfast was cooked to order from a broad menu, there was fresh fruit salad and a range of cereals as well. I have visited the Queens as a non-resident many times over the years, but was pleasantly surprised at this, my first stay.

“Cold room and slow service !”

Had a one night stay after a Cornish pirates rugby game, I stayed in a single room which was not great . The curtains were hanging off the rail , furniture had a very tired look to it and all the walls were damaged with terrible marks . The bed was clean and comfortable also my room was very cold .… lisää

Had a one night stay after a Cornish pirates rugby game, I stayed in a single room which was not great . The curtains were hanging off the rail , furniture had a very tired look to it and all the walls were damaged with terrible marks . The bed was clean and comfortable also my room was very cold . At breakfast the service was very slow , the food was cooked to within an inch of its life !. I was fully aware this hotel was a vintage style hotel but felt it was very under staffed and could do with some simple maintenance !

“Splendid views compensate”

We plunged for a sea view room, which was brilliant. The shower was terrible, very poor water pressure, pre set warm temperature. The beds were old and outdated, and the bedding had seen better days. We plunged for a sea view room, which was brilliant. The shower was terrible, very poor water pressure, pre set warm temperature. The beds were old and outdated, and the bedding had seen better days. The breakfast served in the sea view restaurant could have been better, as the service was very slow. The over all hotel is extremely tired and would need a lot of finance to bring it up to date. Although the bar area was updated, there is a quiet room, filled with too many old sofas and chairs, not fit for purpose. A 3 star is about right, but the rooms are very over priced. The staff do their best and show willingness.
