This is an incredible place. The location is truly stunning overlooking the beautiful estuary. The hotel reception spaces are modern and clean furnished to a very high standard and with unique coastal vibe. Our room was fantastic with a balcony and view over the beach. I must mention how comfortable the bed was, I don’t sleep well but managed to get a full 8 hours! We ate in the restaurant and enjoyed drinks in the bar, the service and food quality was excellent and fitting of a hotel of this quality. I could not recommend this place enough.

“Fabulous stay.”

Stayed for 2 nights in March, lovely hotel, food superb and staff amazing. Big thank you to Ben in the restaurant, delightful young man and so helpful, also duty manager Chris who looked after us like family. We can’t wait to stay again Murray and Janet Turner.

“Seeking Silence and a Cotado”

Our 2nd Harbour Hotel after Sidmouth a few December ago. First off a shout out for 3 outstanding members of staff, Beau (?) & Charlotte in the Restaurant, Gaby on Reception. Our 2nd Harbour Hotel after Sidmouth a few December ago. First off a shout out for 3 outstanding members of staff, Beau (?) & Charlotte in the Restaurant, Gaby on Reception. The explanation was so that the acoustic engineers could tune the speaker system. But the "musak" was execrable for our entire 4 night stay. John Cage would have loved it. Coffee - as a non tea drinker - Coffee plays an important role in my life. Typically 6 half pint mugs of Waitrose's fine Java blend each day. The good news is that Salcombe serves a mean Macchiato. Two waiters tried their hand at a Cortado, our favourite. Sadly no self respecting Barista would have recognised their attempts. I am sure you start with top quality ingredients, but the breakfast Coffee is hot and brown. No flavour. Boiling water is intended for Tea. If the water used to make coffee is too hot it damages the flavour. But the food was outstanding. We ate mainly from the set menu, but that offered quite enough choice for 4 nights. I love Mussels, so had them as a starter, 3 out of 4 dinners. Main courses lovely, especially the Chicken and a thick cut of Fish with Crab topping. My late Mother introduced me to Skate and Tennis. The Skate from the A la Carte menu was quite superb. We had a lovely room on the ground floor, Sea view, and we could walk to breakfast under the roof to avoid the rain. We are not big on Afternoon Teas, but the Scones with our Tea on arrival were light, fluffy and quire superb. Just one hitch, my wife was served a Teapot and a small jug of milk. We attracted the attention of a Waitress - NOT the young waiter who had served us - requesting a Teacup! As Photographers we were sorry not to have caught her expression and the rolling of the eyes. Priceless. Oh a last "thank you" should go to your Valet Parkers. Your car park has to be unique and I Loved the Turntable for rotating cars by Reception such that the could be sent on their way.
