This is the second time we have stayed at the Hardwick Hall hotel for the New Year celebrations including the gala ball dinner. The bedroom was huge with a sofa and chairs, lovely soft furnishings throughout and very comfortable. The bathroom was very spacious with a roll top bath and separate walk in shower. The gala ball was absolutely fantastic, everything was planned to perfection, good selection of food, wine and beer with music provided with a top show band. Best of all is the staff, everyone is smartly dressed, warm, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Special thanks to John the manager who is a credit to his profession. We have already booked for the 2026/7 celebrations.

“Beautiful place”

Beautiful place to stay. Friendly staff, excellent service. Our room was so comfortable with a huge bathroom and a view over the front gardens. We dined in the Rib Room and enjoyed a beautiful steak dinner. Helen provided a top notch service and even gave us a tour round the hall. We thoroughly enjoyed our mini break and would recommend a visit.

“Just Lovely”

Lovely place exceptional staff, shout out to Dakota and two lovely young ladies. Would defiantly return if we were in the area.

Hotel grounds were lovely, we were given a complimentary room upgrade which was appreciated! Check in was very brief with barely any information given, as a hotel receptionist myself this was a let down. The room itself was clean but tired. Hotel grounds were lovely, we were given a complimentary room upgrade which was appreciated! Check in was very brief with barely any information given, as a hotel receptionist myself this was a let down. The room itself was clean but tired. I asked for a shaving kit and waited around 10 minutes for the lady to search to no avail. The food we ate in the bar was okay, not a lot of selection though. We did miss breakfast the first morning due to being kept awake until 3am by the guests in the room above us (the night porter managed to quiet them down) but the second days breakfast was appalling - first of all we were told to order quickly as they were ‘nearly done’ (still had 25 minutes until breakfast ended) and then the lady remained at the side of our table whilst we were deciding what we wanted, not the sort of service you expect from a 4*. Breakfast came and we ordered two breakfast muffins outlined as having sausage, bacon, hash brown and cheese. This came with only sausage, bacon and black pudding?? We both dislike black pudding and after removing it the muffin was so dry we could barely eat it. When mentioning our complaints on check out we had £18 removed for our bar bill the previous night. Didn’t leave feeling it was resolved very well.
