“Food really bad”

We stayed as park of a stay and park for cruise package. Initially at face value the -allocated room 50 seemed ok. My husband’s asthma was troublesome during the stay I looked behind the bedside table in the morning and it was thick with dust. Worse experience was the evening meal, it was probably the worse meal I ever had. I had the fish which was cremated, dry and the minted peas which literally poured mint sauce over. Both my husband and I vomitted in the night. The restaurant staff were lovely but they were very young and as a result I didn’t push the meal complaint. The receptionists were polite and helpful. The bed itself was comfortable.

This is a beautiful building in a lovely setting. Bedroom lovely, but a bit too warm. Bed comfortable and everything clean. The staff are all really lovely. Our main issues were false advertising? We booked here because of the hotel and spa, then were sent an email a few days later to say the pool and spa were closed. This should have been made obvious before the non refundable booking! Also, we booked dinner bed and breakfast. When we arrived we were given a dinner voucher for £25 each which we thought seemed fair, but then discovered that the main courses were all around £25. So this should have been advertised as food voucher, bed and breakfast, not dinner. There should also be a menu easily accessible when booking to understand that this would only cover a main course. So I would say this was also falsely advertised.

We stayed at this hotel on 28th/29th March for a friend's special birthday party. The reason for booking this hotel was so that we could use the pool and spa facilities. We stayed at this hotel on 28th/29th March for a friend's special birthday party. The reason for booking this hotel was so that we could use the pool and spa facilities. Once I'd booked and paid, I was sent an email saying the pool & spa facilities were temporarily closed, but there was no explanation as to why. We still stayed there as it was close to the birthday venue. The food in the restaurant was good, but I did feel that the drinks from the bar were a little overpriced. The room was very spacious. The shower in the bathroom was not very powerful . The TV was not easy to use, they could probably make it easier for guests if they put a laminated instructions of how to use, and it would be better if they also had an iron and ironing board in the room or information in the room that you could get one from reception . The staff were polite and helpful. We got disturbed by staff knocking on the door asking why we hadn't checked out, and I informed them we had a late check out at 12 md, she said it wasn't on the system, but I knew it was as the lady who checked us in and gave us the keys said we had booked a late check out. It is a beautiful old hotel of which they are gradually painting outside and inside.
