Overall positive, especially the staff and will use again if I travel to the area. Good points: Even though it's an old building, it's quite well-maintained. Very central and close to restaurants and shops via a short walk. The reception/pub lady was great and went above and beyond to provide a great service and information. The bedroom was clean and spacious. The pub has a nice vibe, neither too busy nor too empty. Covered outside area to sit and relax, even if it's raining. Prices are acceptable. Bad points: Stayed in room 25 and it was a maze up the stairs to find it. Lots of stairs and doors to get there. Wasn't serving food anymore around 8.30 pm (but neither were half the places I tried to visit after to get a meal - had to get a takeaway and eat in the room) The car park does not provide parking for the whole accommodation, and I was lucky to get the last spot.

Food 5 stars absolutely delicious can't fault the chef very friendly service polite staff Room 4 stars the TV was the most dustiest TV I'd ever seen from the back on the TV definitely needs a clean and the double bed was actually 2 single beds attached together making us slip through the middles during the night which wasn't ideal overall room great very clean besides the TV bedding clean pillows clean bathroom tidy and clean shower just right would definitely recommend to a friend and would definitely book again in the future overall rating id personally give this hotel overall is a 4.7 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨

The hotel is well located in the centre of town. I stayed on a monday night and the town was quite quiet. The hotel must be quite an old building with lots of original features but it is quite basic in every other way. The staff were polite and helpful. The bed was reasonably comfortable but the bathroom was fairly old and in need of modernising. The food is not great. Think burgers for dinner. I had the continental breakfast and that was rudimentary. Porridge from a sachet and mini croissants. Apples or oranges were the only fruits on offer. Very skin to what you'd get at a travelodge.
