I stayed in the newer part of the hotel, and i had a lovely view over their garden. The room was big, with a chair, desk, fridge,and safe. Queen size bed and nice air con. The hotel offers room service, and the front desk is manned 24/7, there is a phone in your room to call if you need anything. The bathroom is big, and has lovely toiletries. The room has the use of slippers and bath robe. I was happy to see that the vedroom door has a safety latch, so no-one can come in. I would definitely stay here again. The Woodsman is the restaurant loxated in the hotel, and is renowned for its chef and has a good star rating. There is a lovely garden you can dine in, or just relax and have a drink in. The hotel also has a gym.

I recently stayed at Hotel Indigo Stratford Upon Avon by IHG, and it was a very good experience overall. Rooms: The rooms were modern, spotless, and well looked after. Housekeeping clearly takes pride in their work. The air conditioning was a big plus and made the stay very comfortable. Staff & Service: Staff were friendly, welcoming, and professional throughout the stay. Reception was efficient and helpful, making check‑in and check‑out smooth. Breakfast: Breakfast offered a good selection of hot and cold options, and service was quick and organised. A solid start to the day. Bar: The bar area was cosy and a nice place to relax in the evening with a drink. Parking: The only downside is the £15 per day parking fee, which feels a little high and is an additional cost on top of the booking. Worth keeping in mind when budgeting. About Stratford Upon Avon The hotel’s location is excellent for exploring Stratford. The town is beautiful, historic, and very walkable, with plenty of pubs, cafés, and restaurants nearby. The River Avon is just a short stroll away — perfect for a peaceful walk. Timber‑framed buildings, Shakespearean landmarks, and a relaxed atmosphere make it a lovely place to spend a weekend. Overall: A clean, modern hotel with great staff and a fantastic location. Aside from the parking cost, it’s a strong choice for anyone visiting Stratford Upon Avon.

“An Excellent Choice”

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Indigo, Stratford Upon Avon, from 18 to 21 June and very much enjoyed it. Specifically: (a) Location – Excellent – A short walk down to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and river. (b) Reception – Both check in and check out were excellent. (c) Parking – Adjacent third party car park. Convenient but charging £15 per day. (d) Room – We were in 706 in the Georgian Town House. It was a relief not to be in the modern block at the back which looked out of keeping with the front of the hotel. The room was good. A couple of oddities. There was a coffee machine but no crockery or coffee. There was a wall mirror sitting on the floor rather than attached to the wall. Both looked like jobs started but not finished. (e) Breakfast – Excellent. (f) Woodsman Restaurant – Excellent. We had the 4 course tasting menu at 7pm on 18 June. Probably not the best choice of time as it coincides with the rush to clear out the pre-theatre bookings. Thoughts: a. Service – A bit slow to start (20 minutes for drinks and 30 minutes to first course, but then excellent). b. Crab and tomato – Original and excellent. c. Sea Bream – Excellent. d. Lamb – Disappointing. Very fatty. e. Strawberry tartlet – Excellent. f. Cap Maritime Chardonnay – Good, but why charged at £50 (+ 12.5% service) when I can buy this at Majestic for £14? This is a 357 % mark up. Why so high? I expect a 150% mark up which infers a fairer price of £35. Nevertheless, overall excellent which is why we returned on 20 June to eat from the a la carte menu.

Stayed here on 22nd June. Really really hot day. Was upgraded as the aircon in the room we booked was not working very well. We had an email and communication that the room would be ready earlier. Arrived about a bit earlier to be told it wasn't ready. Came back at 3pm and lovely staff. … lisää

Stayed here on 22nd June. Really really hot day. Was upgraded as the aircon in the room we booked was not working very well. We had an email and communication that the room would be ready earlier. Arrived about a bit earlier to be told it wasn't ready. Came back at 3pm and lovely staff. Room was gorgeous, bathroom amazing and fantastic breakfast. Said bathrobes, slippers and chocolate advertised but none of those provided. However, we loved our stay here. Oh, parking is £15 for 24 hours.
