A warm welcome awaited on arrival to The White Swan. Laura on reception warmly greeted us and kindly managed to find us a room for a second night as we decided immediately that this was a great location and a beautifully presented hotel. We stayed in 2 differently priced rooms. The first (Room 114) was a double situated at the back of the hotel, although there was a fire escape directly outside the window, it didn’t feel intrusive. The room was immaculately clean with a fantastic shower over a bath and the decor had a modern but traditionally styled feel. Facilities included hairdryer, iron and ironing board, an espresso coffee machine a fridge/mini bar which was clearly priced. Room service was available on request and a selection of high end soap/shampoo/conditioner/hand cream provided. Second night in second room (101 “Hamlet”) at a higher price band gave us a spacious room (Laura advised that it is used as the bridal suite) with super king sized bed. An additional dressing room area and large bathroom with deep, copper roll top bath made this room both luxurious and more than a bit special as it is situated in the original 15th Century part of the building. A large vaulted ceiling and carved bed head and detail to fireplace transported you back to Tudor times, while still enjoying all the modern facilities of the first room. The restaurant was a treat for history lovers as displayed on the wall is a 16th century wall painting, It had a warm relaxing and inviting atmosphere and all the staff were incredibly welcoming and the food was high quality and beautifully presented and would definitely recommend the blade of beef 👌🏼. Breakfast was a blend of self and waiter service, continental breakfast was presented beautifully on buffet tables and you could make your own toast to suit individual preference and there was also a variety of juices and granola, musli and fresh and dried fruit and yoghurt available. A choice of cooked options were available via the menu and fresh tea and coffee brought to the table. We will definitely be making a return trip as this is a perfect central location in Stratford very close to Shakespeare’s birthplace and many other attractions that Stratford has to offer.

“Excellent stay, highly recommend.”

Excellent stay, will definitely be back. Stayed for one night. Room lovely. Had the roast dinner which was very nice ( could have done with a bit more vegetables). Breakfast was also very good. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Parking - there is a car park at the back of the hotel, which is… lisää

Staff were friendly and very helpful. Parking - there is a car park at the back of the hotel, which isn’t the hotels but is about £24 for 48 hours. Excellent value for money.

The best thing about the hotel was the people from reception to serving staff in the bar and restaurant everyone was really kind and lovely. The room was great - clean, very comfortable, nice touches like the brownies and biscuits. Shame the phone and heated towel rail didn’t work but not a big dea… lisää

There’s some amazing historical features in the hotel building. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all ok - pub fare. The biggest gripe was parking - the only options are 24 hour pay and display car parks and hotel guests don’t even get a discount so for us staying 3 nights was an additional £42. Also the car parks get very busy so trying to find a convenient space was tricky.

This place is great - quiet but incredibly atmospheric, with good beer and service.
