We were a party of 4 and when we arrived we were greeted with a warm smile by the bar lady and shown to our seats near a window. The room was beginning to build with customers but we felt as though we were the only guests present. After studying the menu we all chose different main courses. The server was very pleasant and although onion rings - my favourite, were not on the menu she went and asked the chef if he could do some for me. She was delighted to say he could. When the meals arrived we wondered where the other guests were as portions were ginormous and sumpteous. My golden freshly prepared onion rings would have been sufficient for the whole restaurant. I had a ploughmans board which stretched almost over the whole table of 4 - magic! Size of meal did not compromise either the quality or flavours - absolutely brilliand and well done the chef. We have been to the restaurant a number of times but this visit has been the best of all. Thank you.

“Thank you Bolingbroke Arms!”

We had the most fantastic stay at the Bolingbroke Arms and Hotel. From the warm and friendly welcome (at a time when the staff were very busy hosting a wake involving 80+ guests) through to our fairly early departure next day, everything was pretty much first rate. From the warm and friendly welcome (at a time when the staff were very busy hosting a wake involving 80+ guests) through to our fairly early departure next day, everything was pretty much first rate. Plenty of parking, lovely garden area, spacious and welcoming interior with enough space between tables to make it feel private yet buzzy. One of the stand out features at Bolingbroke is the staff. We were very impressed by the professionalism, customer focus and sincerity of every member of staff we met. All wanted to make our stay, drinks and meal as perfect as could be and went above and beyond to help make our evening enjoyable. Far superior to many of the more expensive hotels in the area. The food was excellent. Fresh, well cooked to the individual tastes of each of our group, and beautifully presented. One of the nicest meals we’ve had this year and we eat out a lot! The rooms were warm, well decorated and spotlessly clean. Comfortable beds, nice en-suite shower rooms. The only thing we found a bit challenging was the low water pressure and temperature regulation of the shower - we couldn’t get this right so shower was a little underwhelming and luke warm. But it might have been operator error rather than a problem with the shower itself. Would definitely recommend the Bolingbroke if you’re looking for somewhere to stay, eat, drink (or all three) in this area.

“Sunny Sunday Roast!”

Genuinely really pleased by the price and pub itself! Jess gave 5 star service and made us feel welcome straight from the start, a credit to the team. Lovely pub, great atmosphere and a pleasant beer garden. Had a lovely Sunday roast on a sunny Sunday.

“Slow service”

We visit here fairly regularly around 6/7 times a year, usually as a group of 4 to 8. In April we went as a group for a birthday..the service was slow,we spent 2 hours there having meal and dessert..some of food was not that hot but edible and we enjoyed the food that was nice and warm..we'd never come across this before but our friend who's birthday it was asked us not to complain so we didn't.. my husbands meal arrived 10mins after the rest was served. We went again end of June with a friend from Tanzania. We were seated,drinks ordered,food ordered very quickly but the meal took a while to arrive..we were going to order desserts but gave up as no one came near us to remove plates. The food was lovely and we enjoyed it. My husband had to go to the bar to ask for bill. So disappointed as any visitors we have, we always take there but think we'll give it a miss now.. shame...
