“Lovely quiet and peaceful hotel”

Can’t complain the room is tidy and clean Im amazed with all the bad reviews on here I know it’s not a 5 star hotel but it’s not half as bad as what some people are saying on here it’s as good as you’ll get for the price you pay no complaints I’d stay agriculture i was in the area

Spent one night here, on the evening of the 5th. It’s a bit of a shame - this very large hotel truly has massive potential, but needs quite a bit of TLC in various areas and on, various aspects. Spent one night here, on the evening of the 5th. It’s a bit of a shame - this very large hotel truly has massive potential, but needs quite a bit of TLC in various areas and on, various aspects. It certainly is located in a peaceful and bucolic location - a plus. Decent free car park for those staying - input your car registration at reception. Gardens have potential but need some maintaining. Whilst I stayed here - no food was available from any Restaurant in the Hotel - unsure whether this is a temporary or permanent situation. Bar lounge is in a quite good state, but all beers etc are in cans stored in a fridge behind the bar itself. Room was totally fine - clean, tidy - and I cannot complain, but was cold on arrival, in the very early evening, and very chilly, when I awoke at 5 am, to head to Llangollen for a run round the town. No heating was on, in my section of the Hotel, and the radiators did not work. Outside it was supposedly around 4C degrees at the time. I get the impression that the hotel is run on a low expenditure budget - in terms of maintenance etc, thus keeping the cost down. I guess it’s a Catch 22 for the Owners - it could be updated and refurbished but would take time and would likely cost quite a bit of money.
