The Headlands hotel is located in a quiet and peaceful location close to the costal path and not to far from Torquay's marina and main street. It is a perfect place to return to and relax after a day out. Every member of the hospitality team is always prepared, and happy to go that extra mile to help in any way they can. This was our second visit and it will, without doubt not be the last. Can not recommend it highley enough

“Relaxing hotel”

Fantastic hotel with very comfortable surroundings, in a great location. Superb views!. Lovely food and service. Spa is small but relaxing. Does the best facials! Thoroughly recommend.

I didn't want to leave a public review, I would much rather have sent constructive feedback directly to the hotel, but the only email address available was for enquiries, so here we go. Firstly, let me say we had a nice time and the hotel has many positives. The beds were comfortable, room was quiet and the view from our room was lovely. Breakfast was nice, with good quality ingredients. The hotel was spotlessly clean and most areas were really well presented. The location was okay, and it was a ten minute walk down the hill to Torquay harbour ( and a 20 minute walk back up a very steep hill!) I have been a hospitality/food & beverage manager and these are reasons I wouldn't return: Room 162, the door doesn't lock from the inside, we had to hope that no one with a room card walked in. ( we kept the do not disturb sign on for our 2 night stay) The bathroom door doesn't shut, it has no catch or lock, the toiletries are a dispenser with poor quality soap in it and the radiator doesn't work. The hospitality tray is poor - no hot chocolate, speciality teas or biscuits and no complimentary bottled water in the room. The spa - we didn't have any treatments, but decided to have a couple of hours in the spa on Sunday morning. Only half of the jacuzzi is working so while I had bubbles my husband sat there just in warm water! We went on the small sauna, and after ten minutes a lady came to use it, so we offered to leave to go in the steam room - except it didn't work or wasn't switched on. The hydro pool was nice, but both were occupied so we ended up leaving after 40 minutes. When leaving or arriving back at the hotel, there was no interaction from the receptionist. A 'hello' or 'enjoy your day' would have been nice. Dining room was pleasant, breakfast is self serve, good choice of cooked items and good quality produce, pastries had run out by 9.30am and they weren't replenished, could be a better choice of fruit than prunes, defrosted mixed berries and apricot ( no fresh fruit) Orange juice was lovely. It would be nice to have a pot of tea or coffee rather than the self serve in mugs. Also, no place mats or tablecloths on tables ( even a paper place mat would have been appreciated. The entertainment was much appreciated and the male singer on Saturday night was great, however we got back to the hotel Sunday night to catch the end of the female singers set, but she had finished at 10.15pm, also stood at the bar for 10 minutes but no one around to serve us so we went to bed! We stayed at the Belvedere Sands last year and could have this year, ( for a cheaper price) but we decided to give the Headland a go. In all honesty the Belvedere knocked spots off the Headland, so despite a pleasant stay, we wont be back..

This was a lovely Hotel with lovely views. The Reception Staff were great and very friendly. The only faults would be some of the rooms were a little more outdated than others but they were still nice and big. Also Check Out was very Early. We had to be Packed up and Checked out by 10am - If this w… lisää

We had to be Packed up and Checked out by 10am - If this was extended until 11am that would have been great.
