I have been coming to the Bear's Paw for some time now and it is my go to place if I am in the North of my region. What makes the Bear's Paw so special are the staff. Everyone of them have time to say hello and make you feel so welcome. The rooms are so comfortable and great for my business needs. The complimentary teas and coffees are so good as you can get anywhere and the selection of showers gels and shampoo are great. The bed is very comfortable and I always have a great night sleep. The food available is amazing. The menus change so you are never bored. The choice of drinks are very good and all prices are very reasonable. The breakfast in the morning uses the best produce from Cheshire and cooked perfectly every time. I have access to most of the hotel chains in the UK but there is nothing that can compare with the hospitality, the warmth, food and comfort of the Bear's Paw. “Excellent country pub and accommodation”

We stayed a single night at The Bear's Paw on the way to a festival. It turned out to be a great choice. This is a traditional country pub with rooms and with outstanding staff. All of the staff that we met both during the evening and the following morning at breakfast and checkout were genuinely friendly. The food at both dinner and breakfast was also top notch. It's a pity The Bear's Paw isn't a little closer to us as would definitely eat their regularly.

Visited for Sunday lunch. Was Mothers Day so expected pub to be busy; it was but service was friendly and speedy. Food absolutely delicious and plenty of it. Visited for Sunday lunch. Was Mothers Day so expected pub to be busy; it was but service was friendly and speedy. Food absolutely delicious and plenty of it. We both went for the roast beef and Yorkshire pudding and it didn’t disappoint. Deserts were creme brûlée and double chocolate brownie, both excellent. Beautiful traditional pub, very relaxed atmosphere and efficient and pleasant staff. Would definitely recommend.

“Overnight chilled stay.”

Husband and I stayed over for the night and had a lovely, chilled evening. We thought the room was a little dated compared to other Nelson Hotels we have stayed in, however it was very clean and comfortable and the beautiful tea / coffee tray was well received ! Husband and I stayed over for the night and had a lovely, chilled evening. We thought the room was a little dated compared to other Nelson Hotels we have stayed in, however it was very clean and comfortable and the beautiful tea / coffee tray was well received ! Really comfortable bed, pillows were excellent. Parking - plenty of space and free. Food and drinks 10/10 - fantastic Food, we booked for the Sunday roasts which were excellent then followed on with the carrot cake and sticky toffee pudding. Beautiful ! Breakfast was also excellent - selection of continental foods then a menu to order From, we had the full English and avacado with poached eggs. Great coffee too ! Staff were so friendly, I would recommend a stay here !
