On arrival we were greeted by a lovely lady who showed us to a check in area. We were shown to the table by another lady who couldn’t have been more helpful. We were offered water. The Afternoon Tea itself was exceptional very well presented. This same lady checked to see if everything was okay and said to let her know if we needed any more tea, jam or cream etc. This is a Beautiful Hotel set in Beautiful grounds. Highly Recommend.

Came here for Afternoon Tea that was gifted to us for Xmas 2025 The hotel is very smart, old fashioned but modern The Restaurant is wood panelled and the tables are dressed with crisp white linen tablecloths and the napkins are also white linen. The crockery is very dainty and the cutlery high quality silver. We were given menus and asked if we wanted some water. Moments later we placed our order for tea and sat back We swiftly received our bottled water, which was poured. Soon after, our tea and food arrived. The food was served on a traditional tea stand, and the offerings of a "standard fare". We had opted for wholemeal bread mainly for personal choice. The sandwiches were all very nice, no complaints there The scones were tasty, but without a doubt were not "homemade" as they resembled shop bought ones! Furthermore, the menu states that you also get "an assortment of artisan pastries, petit fours and delicate confections". All we seemed to have was "petit fours / chocolates" along with a shot glass of mousse. There were no pastries! In regards to the "service" there is a 12.5% service charge added to your bill. Naturally as we had pre-paid via a voucher, this did not apply, although if we had been paying I would of asked for this to be removed. The male waiter who served two tables had checked back on his tables. Once our food arrived no one came to check on us at all. Once finished we sat for a good 10-15 minutes to see if we needed to sign something - yet not one member of staff had been back to the Restaurant in this time. We got up and left and a young man (sleeves rolled up and tattoos out) asked if all was ok and bid us farewell. It was ok, but certainly not worthy of £36 a head. The Randolph Hotel in Oxford, which is not only a 5 Star Hotel (WM is only 4) just charges £34.50 for Afternoon Tea. Along with this a few tweaks which could make this better (and also what the Randolph Hotel offer!) 1: Loose leaf tea and a tea strainer adds to the elegance of Afternoon Tea 2: Home made Scones would be much nicer than shop bought ones 3: Offer more on the sweet side, as 4 chocolate petit fours is not really what you advertise on your menu 4: Sugar cubes would be another elegant touch to the afternoon instead of sachets. Glad we tried it and hope that the above feedback and comments can maybe make the offering better for future guests.

Beautiful building furnished and maintained to a very high standard Our suite was stunning! A very nice place to chill with everything you needed other than a mini bar. The dining room was beautiful and the food was sublime Service was great and we really liked the little bar where the barman was… lisää

The dining room was beautiful and the food was sublime Service was great and we really liked the little bar where the barman was so good The bed was huge and so comfortable Everything was perfect until we went for breakfast then it all went premier inn with Luke warm buffet breakfast no service not what you expect for in excess of £600 for one night
