Superb hotel in a great location on Lake Road inbetween Windermere and Bowness. We have stayed here twice now and we have to say it is one of the best hotels we have been to. The first time we had a lady of the manor room which was beautiful and had wonderful views of the lake, this time we had a room at the front of the hotel. The windows are double glazed so there isn't any road noise. The room was very spacious and decorated to a high standard, the bed was so comfy and clean slept like a baby. I loved the bathroom as it was modern and had lovely toiletries from the Bath House store, the towels were white, thick and fluffy. The room had 3 radiators, one in the bathroom and 2 in the bedroom, so it was nice and warm as the weather was quite cold and rainy, they dont skimp on the heating either. The window does open if you want to get some air in the room so it was very comfortable. Staff are very friendly and helpful, housemaids do an excellent job of keeping the whole place pristine, they work very hard and the cleanliness is outstanding. Breakfast was fantastic, good quality tea, bacon and sausage, with cereals/ fruit and yoghurt etc. There is a lovely balcony/ terrace off the bar area which has spectacular views over the lake, the bar has nice beer (Angelo Poretti) and good red wine in fact the whole place is a class act. There is parking at the back too. Would highly recommend this hotel if you like a bit of luxury 😀

“Fantastic stay”

A beautiful hotel in a perfect location just minutes from the centre of Bowness with lovely cafes, restaurants, shops, and of course the lake itself. Friendly, helpful staff. Delicious breakfast. Lack of evening meal provision not a problem as so many eating options just a five minute walk away in… lisää

A beautiful hotel in a perfect location just minutes from the centre of Bowness with lovely cafes, restaurants, shops, and of course the lake itself. Friendly, helpful staff. Delicious breakfast. Lack of evening meal provision not a problem as so many eating options just a five minute walk away in Bowness. We had a room facing the road and traffic noise was not a problem at all but in warm weather, if you wish to have the window open, I guess it could be.

“Lovely hotel”

We stayed here for two nights . We stayed in one of the front facing rooms, which was beautifully clean. Helpful friendly staff and a great location for walking into Bowness and to the Lake. Bus stop a few feet away. Excellent breakfast and lovely views from the dining room. One possible thing to… lisää

We stayed here for two nights . We stayed in one of the front facing rooms, which was beautifully clean. Helpful friendly staff and a great location for walking into Bowness and to the Lake. Bus stop a few feet away. Excellent breakfast and lovely views from the dining room. One possible thing to note is if the weather is hot, there is road noise, if you wanted the windows open. When, we stay again, we would choose a rear room with views.

This hotel is in a great location within walking distance to Bowness centre. The hotel has been beautifully renovated with a modern decor and has a fantastic terrace overlooking the countryside. The breakfast is very comprehensive and they offer you a box to take away some pastries. The room was comfortable but would prefer a bigger room if I stayed again. The reception staff are pleasant and helpful.
