Jericho’s boutique hotel is ideally situated being just set back from the main high street in Windermere and has ample parking for its guests. Jericho’s boutique hotel is ideally situated being just set back from the main high street in Windermere and has ample parking for its guests. From there it was an easy walk into either Bowness or Windermere itself for our evenings out, both locations offering plenty of places to eat and drink. Hayley and Steve made us feel very welcome during our stay and the breakfast menu had something for everyone. The food was of a very high quality as was the service, and we would definitely stay there again should we wind ourselves back in that area of the Lake District.

Overall, we had a good stay at Jerichos. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent and the availability of parking was a real bonus. Overall, we had a good stay at Jerichos. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent and the availability of parking was a real bonus. It was nice that the owners recognised that guests often want to have a drink where they are staying, and provided wine glasses, corkscrews etc. We found the room (number 12) a bit disappointing. Jerichos is a lovely Victorian building, but our room was in a modern side extension, so didn’t have the room height we expected (and I had advised that my husband is tall and requested a room with good ceiling height; at 6’2 he had to bend his head to get in the room). It also felt over-furnished and we felt cramped. The bathroom was well fitted and clean, and the supplied toiletries were lovely. Breakfast felt somewhat rushed. We booked in for 9am, and found that they were cleaning up around us and setting tables for the next day by 9.30am. The hot food also repeatedly came out while we were still eating the first course. Swift service is probably a fault in the right direction, but we’d have preferred a more relaxed start to the day. If we stayed again, we would want a room in the old house, as the glimpses we got suggested these were rather more what we had expected.
