“Great spa and restaurant- outdated bathrooms”

Amazing, beautiful spa and restaurant. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Would 100% dinner and a spa experience. The rooms however… I gave birth 17 weeks ago and can honestly say the nhs maternity ward bathrooms were nicer. The rooms themselves were okay (quite outdated but comfy bed). But… lisää

Amazing, beautiful spa and restaurant. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Would 100% dinner and a spa experience. The rooms however… I gave birth 17 weeks ago and can honestly say the nhs maternity ward bathrooms were nicer. The rooms themselves were okay (quite outdated but comfy bed). But the bathrooms.. the BATHROOMS! We did actually say something to the front desk who informed they were currently updating the rooms and gave us 15% off of our dinner which was kind. They also offered to reclean the bathroom. We had come away for my 30th birthday trip and was left disappointed. For the price of the stay I would have expected a lot more in the rooms. I’d suggest going to the spa and for dinner and then stay somewhere else.

“Nearly there but not quite hitting the mark!”

Visited St Michael’s as a Birthday treat. The positive points are great location, evening meal in the Brasserie excellent, (delicious mussels) good service from young staff. Visited St Michael’s as a Birthday treat. The positive points are great location, evening meal in the Brasserie excellent, (delicious mussels) good service from young staff. The minus as mentioned in other reviews which is why I’m writing this review as it seems to me they are continually pointed out but the management choose to ignore the feedback. 1. Chaotic breakfast service, NOT ENOUGH MUGS! even with a queue waiting for mugs, and washing them as fast as you can , there are obviously not enough- just buy more! The poor guy walked out without breakfast after waiting nearly an hour, we ordered after him and got ours, I don’t blame him but it was awkward. 1 coffee machine broken on Sun 29th March so gave up on coffee. Unfortunately the Maitre”d seemed to not take charge of the room or oversea. 2. Our room was sold as Classic King with view, it had a nice view but is very tired, chipped and peeling paint on headboard and bathroom, mould on tiles , not luxury or what I’d expect in the price range as sold. I did mention the above on checkout, sage nodding re breakfast- obviously common feedback, was told the rooms are being upgraded! Great but didn’t help us! The location saves St Michael’s and I’m sure its location , but it could be so much better, sort these few points out please and you’ve nailed it!

“Food in bar restaurant needs reviewing”

This is no separate place to review the restaurant so I am leaving a review on here. We came to the bar restaurant at about 5pm after leaving Gylly cafe. This is no separate place to review the restaurant so I am leaving a review on here. We came to the bar restaurant at about 5pm after leaving Gylly cafe. We had had tea and cake there but escaped due to the noise. The lounge restaurant bar here is the height of civilisation in comparison. The problem is that the food is not so great. The menu does not seem to have changed in the last 12 months. My partner had a pizza, I had the calamari. His pizza was very burnt and should never have been served. He went up to the bar to bring it to their attention. They told him that he would not be charged for it, but nobody then came to our table to check it out. After some wait I hailed the waitress who had served us. She is a sweet polite young woman and she bought him the pulled pork brioche which were given on the house. By this point my partner was in a grumpy mood and he did not particularly enjoy his new meal. My calamari were very average. The staff here are fine but it did seem a bit chaotic. We would happily pop in here quite a bit in the Summer period but with average food we are rather put off. I think you need to review your menu. Having said that we might well come for dinner in your formal restaurant.
