“Pleasantly surprised”

We were here with friends and contrary to recent reviews we found the hotel and its staff very welcoming. Some areas are a little dated but it was clean and comfortable. We were here with friends and contrary to recent reviews we found the hotel and its staff very welcoming. Some areas are a little dated but it was clean and comfortable. Meals in the restaurant were buffet style. We enjoyed all the food we had both at breakfast and dinner. The only downside is some guests caused concerns for our friends with partying at 4.30 in the morning. The hotel did get it sorted but perhaps others should be more considerate. We would go back if in Blackpool as the location is ideal

“Weekend in Blackpool”

Stayed for 2 nights as part of a coach group. Was worried after the terrible reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were all really friendly and helpful all weekend. Stayed for 2 nights as part of a coach group. Was worried after the terrible reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were all really friendly and helpful all weekend. Everywhere was clean and food more than satisfactory either plenty of choice. The rooms are dated, but you’re not longer paying Hilton prices. Had noise one night in the corridor from other guests, but soon quietened down. It’s idea for a short break, at the right price.

“Great location but better hotels to choose from.”

We stayed at the Grand for the convenience of the Blackpool Marathon and was perfect location as it started just across the road. The hotel is a good location, close enough for a walk to busy Blackpool but far enough out so you don’t get much noise. Our room had a nice sea view, it was a shame th... lisää

We stayed at the Grand for the convenience of the Blackpool Marathon and was perfect location as it started just across the road. The hotel is a good location, close enough for a walk to busy Blackpool but far enough out so you don’t get much noise. Our room had a nice sea view, it was a shame the mattress was so uncomfortable and definitely could do with being replaced. Our room could have done with a bit of a clean as the tea tray had not been wiped and the bathroom was only just about acceptable in terms of cleanliness. I used the pool facility which was nice and the staff were friendly. Would love an earlier check in as 4 pm seems a bit late. Parking charges of £7.00 seems high when parking on the hotel car park. Blackpool has a huge choice of hotels and B&B and next time I would choose a different hotel to stay.

“Bad choice”

We have been several times to The Grand Hotel in Blackpool, but this time was so different. We got a dirty room which was out dated and in need of repair. We have been several times to The Grand Hotel in Blackpool, but this time was so different. We got a dirty room which was out dated and in need of repair. The windows were both wet with water and all over the sills. The ceiling was rotten and dirty. The fan in the bathroom did not work. The kettle leaked. The flush in the toilet was not very good, it needed to moved around to stop the water running in the bowl. The hair dryer in the bathroom was broke, but i did find another one in a draw. We did not find a blanket or spare pillows in the room, which we could have done with as the room was very cold. The room was very smelly with damp and also smelt of smoke. The main fault i have with the hotel was that i booked for bed Breakfast and Evening meal. When we checked in we were told the times of the restarant, but we were not told about the menu. We went to dinner at 6pm ish and it was all in darkness. One of the waiters came out and said it was open , but only a few guest were having dinner. We were told that the menu had changed and we had a very small choice or a specials menu. I could only find 1 item for dinner that i liked and i only had that because there was nothing else. The menu only had curries sausage and mash, lasagna and e couple of other meals. I do think that we should have been told at booking or on check in about this, if i had i would have moved and gone to a different hotel. I just wanted to let you all know that if you are thinking of a mid week booking, be aware that you might not get what you exspect. The hotel was very empty of customers. We will not be going back to this hotel again.
