We enjoyed a fabulous lunch in the hotel on Thursday - food, service and wine all absolutely 5*. The staff acknowledged my birthday and made us feel special. I hadn't realised that the hotel had reopened about 4 weeks ago. There are still on-going refurbishments but these are unobtrusive. the all day menu was simple, but the quality of the food was superb. We will certainly be back.

We chose The Grand Hotel Leicester by The Unlimited Collection for a short city break and came away pleasantly surprised. If you appreciate architecture and a sense of place, this hotel delivers in a way that many modern chain properties simply can’t. The building itself is impressive high ceilings, period detailing and a real sense of history yet it doesn’t feel dated. The recent refurbishment has clearly lifted the overall standard. The interiors feel brighter and more contemporary, while still respecting the character of the property. It strikes a good balance between heritage and comfort. Our room was well sized, immaculately clean and thoughtfully equipped. The bed was very comfortable, the Wi-Fi fast and reliable, and the flat-screen TV and tea/coffee facilities were welcome additions after a day exploring. The bathroom felt modern and fresh, with good water pressure in the shower and quality complimentary toiletries small details that do make a difference. Location is another strong point. Being centrally positioned makes it easy to walk to restaurants, shops and the station, which is particularly convenient if you’re travelling by train. One small note breakfast can get busy during peak periods, so arriving a little earlier might make for a more relaxed start to the day. That said, the overall experience more than outweighed this minor point. There are certainly cheaper hotels in Leicester, but this one feels a tier above in terms of atmosphere and comfort. For us, it was worth the slightly higher rate for a stay that felt more distinctive and memorable. Would happily return.

Beautiful rooms and the staff really made me feel welcome. The refurbishment is a thing of beauty and you can tell the new team in place really care about making you feel welcome. Best hotel in Leicester now. 👌

The first time I have stayed at the Grand Hotel since its refurbishment. What a stunning improvement on the old hotel! The first time I have stayed at the Grand Hotel since its refurbishment. What a stunning improvement on the old hotel! The bedrooms are superbly decorated, with really comfortable beds, state of the art interactive TVs and super fast Wi-Fi. The new Rain Showers are a great addition to the bathroom refit. The revamped restaurant and bar have made this a real destination in the city, the food and service were exceptional. I have stayed in Leicester many times and at most of the hotels, following my recent stay at the Grand Hotel I can state without any hesitation, this IS the best hotel in Leicester.
