Delighted that this has reopened and I have to say to a very high standard and extremely tastefully too..a wonderful social outdoor area and which is coupled with a lower bar and outside pizzeria.we have been here a couple of times and both have been excellent.we recently tried the ‘upper deck’which is more of a ‘fine dine’ however although the food was wonderful the service was a little disjointed and there was a lack of attention to detail.minor details but considering the increase in price and 12.5% service charge felt this could be sharper.perhaps a dress code and change of background music.something to feel a justification in the upgrade of cost.it felt like an extension of the bar.we understand these are teething problems as recently reopened and confirm again that the food and the environments are fantastic..this will not deter us returning.

This is gem!! The staff are extremely helpful. We stayed 2 nights. Bedroom was spacious and generously equipped. Nespresso coffee tasty biscuits a big wetroom Very quiet at night. Breakfast was freshly cooked with usual menu plus eggs Benedict etc. The evening menu had excellent steak. The … lisää

Breakfast was freshly cooked with usual menu plus eggs Benedict etc. The evening menu had excellent steak. The fish was Dover Sole. Everything was cooked to perfection A particular mention to Kirstie who was a great receptionist. And the new owners so helpful.

“Friendly staff and great refreshments”

We were very glad to see that the Royal George was open after it's major refurbishment. We only used the coffee shop this time, and it was a lovely experience to be served by happy smiling staff who were very friendly. We only used the coffee shop this time, and it was a lovely experience to be served by happy smiling staff who were very friendly. The chocolate brownie cake was amazing and coffee was good, just what was required after our 5 miles walking.

“Amazing hotel and restaurant”

What an amazing place! Went this week now that the renovations are nearly completed. Fabulous food and excellent attentive service - what more can you ask for? The gardens outside are lovely with expert chefs making pizzas in a wood-fired oven. We ate in the Upper Deck so a pizza will be some th… lisää

What an amazing place! Went this week now that the renovations are nearly completed. Fabulous food and excellent attentive service - what more can you ask for? The gardens outside are lovely with expert chefs making pizzas in a wood-fired oven. We ate in the Upper Deck so a pizza will be some thing to try next time. The Cote de Bouef my husband and I shared was so tender - thoroughly recommend this. As it was warm we sat out in the garden with our drinks and later on when the weather cooled a fire pit was lit to keep off the chill. Altogether a very enjoyable experience and one we hope to repeat again soon.
