Whist the location of the hotel is ultra convenient & the addition of the Spa makes it attractive we found the food on offer at the hotel: either really expensive (Restaurant) or also pretty run of the mill in terms of quality. Most guests get stung in the Restaurant and then opt for the Bar menu for their evening meal. The menu also lacks traditional Scottish fare of Porridge, Kippers etc There is a lack of storage space in the rooms and no mini bar & refrigerator.

“A noisy room”

Spent 3 nights at this hotel, conveniently close to the Craignure Ferryport. No opportunity of dining out (nothing open) but had no complaint about the hotel food. Spent 3 nights at this hotel, conveniently close to the Craignure Ferryport. No opportunity of dining out (nothing open) but had no complaint about the hotel food. Problem is that I am a light sleeper, but foolishly forgot to tell the hotel that I wanted a QUIET room. So, if you're happy with corridor noise till 3am, Room 26 is the room for you. Personally, with 10 flights of stairs immediately outside the room, raucous laughter and feet till the early hours, as well as the laundry area diagonally opposite imitting whirring sounds throughout the night, this was a bad choice which raises the question of better soundproofing on the corridor doors.

Our stay had some issues that caused disappointment (pool closed), and overall the experience did not fully meet expectations. The hotel itself looks very tired in places, and based on the standard and facilities, we didn’t feel it truly merits its 4‑star rating. Certain areas would benefit from refurbishment and a bit more attention to detail to bring it in line with what is advertised. That said, after returning home, the hotel did address our concerns and provided a partial refund, which we were satisfied with and appreciated. This helped resolve matters and made us feel that our feedback was taken seriously. The meals were lovely, well cooked, and very enjoyable, and dining was one of the most positive aspects of our visit. While there were positives, particularly the setting, food, and eventual resolution of our complaint, improvements to the facilities and overall standard would be needed for the hotel to fully justify its current rating.
