We celebrated my mother in laws 80th at Celtic Manor and had a great weekend. There was something to do for everyone who attended from teenagers, to couples in their 30's, 50's and beyond. A special thank you to Ali (who served in the main bar on Friday) and Bella (The Grill Saturday lunch and evening). Both were fantastic, efficient, and friendly and ensured our party were very well looked after. I think we used all the facilities at Celtic Manor over the weekend, the pool and spa facilities, the gym - all had plenty of space & not crowded. Took the shuttle to the 2010 course for lunch and then had dinner at the Grill. The food was great and we enjoyed breakfast in the main lobby and also upgraded to the 6th floor. We can honestly say the team at Celtic Manor were so friendly with a can do attitude. We had a wonderful family weekend! Thank you

“Not my usual 5 stars”

Always love a stay at the Celtic manor however this occasion unfortunately I wouldn’t rate it my normal 5 stars :( We stayed night and upgraded room last minute everything was as it should be- stunning room, lovely view! Always love a stay at the Celtic manor however this occasion unfortunately I wouldn’t rate it my normal 5 stars :( We stayed night and upgraded room last minute everything was as it should be- stunning room, lovely view! Couldn’t complain at all :) We had food down at Pad and it was lovely - however my curry was a little watery but otherwise very nice and tasty too. Bed was so comfy, AC kept us cool. We then had a spa day the following day. Lady was lovely who did my treatment however it was a bit noisy outside during my treatment and also the bed I was on was wobbly - so I didn’t feel the calm vibe I should’ve had due to these two things. Although massage was very good. We then went to use the facilities and it was extremely busy… again not really the luxurious feel you want when there are children running around the pool. Maybe a separate area for general swimming and children would be better and keep one area for those having a spa day…? Just a thought. Although appreciate it isn’t as easy as that. I also don’t really like the time slot allocation for the facilities - if you’ve paid to stay and paid for a spa day on top of this I don’t see how it is fair that you still only get 2 45 min slots to use the facilities, and they seemed much stricter on it this time around too. We then went to use the showers and there were only body wash in showers. When I went last year there were the Elemis shower gel, shampoos and conditioners in each shower - so this again for me took away from that luxurious feel… good job I had taken shampoo and conditioner as I was expecting there to be shampoo and conditioner in the shower like last time. We were there told that the spa didn’t include lunch when I purchased the exact same thing last year (and the overnight stay) and it did include lunch and says online that it included lunch so this was a bit confusing. Think better clarity needed on this. The lady said “it’s either the spa day, and the overnight stay, or the spa day and the lunch”, which doesn’t make much sense to me as again you’ve paid to spend the night in their hotel and then they don’t include lunch in your spa day - seems a bit backwards. They then tried to charge me for the balloons that were put in my room on the upgrade and were already paid for. Good job I queried with them as they were labelled as something else. They did then take this off the bill. They were also charging gratuities every time I bought something which I didn’t understand. On check out then you have to pay an extortionate 25 pounds to park - which again to me takes away the luxury feel… I think this should either be included on your booking and should be much much cheaper or not at all. I think a few little tweaks could get this back to feeling more luxurious but that isn't how it felt this weekend :( I'd personally rather pay a bit extra and have parking included, lunch included, and for them to bring back the use of the elemis toiletries in the showers after your spa day. So you dont have to think about certain things and it feels more relaxed.

“Really good visit - getting better and better”

Greatly improved compared to our last visit few years ago - all staff incredibly polite and courteous. Seemed to be much better all round. Greatly improved compared to our last visit few years ago - all staff incredibly polite and courteous. Seemed to be much better all round. A special thanks to an incredibly kind hotel services member (Rebecca - who was on floor 7) - welcomed us with such kindest and was so caring to our daughter, nothing seemed too much. Will be returning. Mindful that hospitality is an extremely tough gig currently and Celtic Manor is probably an operational headache - but keep improving!
