There's an amazing buzz of creativity about this place. The basics are there - the rooms are lovely, beds very comfortable, breakfast is fine - but what sets it apart is the sense of continual innovation. Melanie Harrison the owner/manager is a constant presence and seems to keep coming up with new ideas, especially music and art, both of which feature prominently and frequently. There are lots of quirky details, rooms are generally named after musical or literary figures - we were in the Ruby Murray room which offered an old-style record player and a large stack of vinyl LP's of great variety and interest, including the sweet voice of the long-forgotten Ruby Murray. There's a slightly random feel to everything here but in a good way, we would definitely recommend a visit

My wife and I spent Friday with friends hanging out at The Harrison and I have to say it was a class experience. The place is like no other and the staff are attentive and very friendly. The decor is a visual treat and the rooms of which there are 36 are full of personality all presenting comfort and cleanliness perfection. Had dinner in Stranmillis and return to hotel bar / lounge for conversation and amazing background jazz curated by David. Thanks to Mel (the proprietor) who is an amazing host and fountain of knowledge when it comes to the arts and culture seen. Check out the entertainment programme in their website. “Belfast parkrun trip”

The rooms was lovely. It was bigger than we expected. We were in the John Lavery room. The basin in the bathroom was amazing! It was like a work of art!

The hotel is full of character and has many interesting and stylish pieces and decor. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I booked a room for three people and was shown to a large beautiful room with one double carved four poster and a small carved wooden single. There was a large bathroom… lisää

The hotel is full of character and has many interesting and stylish pieces and decor. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I booked a room for three people and was shown to a large beautiful room with one double carved four poster and a small carved wooden single. There was a large bathroom with an ample shower and free standing bath. We had lovely drinks from the beautiful bar and were well looked after. Our small criticisms were that although the booking was for three there was two sets of towels and only two cups for tea/coffee. No TV though I understand that they may think it wasn’t in keeping with the decor. There was a strong ( unpleasant) smell coming from the bathroom in the corridor leading from the bar to our room. These are all easily fixed and just need a little more attention to individual bookings and the smell had gone the following day.
