“Beautiful charming hotel!”

What a charming, comfortable and lovely place to stay! The staff were exquisite and the room was so delightful! Great water pressure, the windows opened and the hair dryer was so great! Certainly made things more comfortable so far from home!

Lovely hotel made outstanding by the service given by Kaysi and her team. Arriving cold and wet from walking in Donegal, we couldn't reach the hotel by car as St Patrick's Day celebrations closed the roads. Kaysi walked out in the rain to meet us, took charge of the car and pointed us in the direction of food and comfort. Her team gave hints of where to explore and we spent a super afternoon and evening discovering Derry and enjoying the celebrations. The staff are a great credit to a very good hotel.

You need to stay at the Bishopsgate if in Derry. We live in Derry and stay here for its location, warmth and high level of hospitality. Its a boost for the soul. “Too many small annoyances to gain a better rating.”

Stayed in one of the hotel apartments which at first impression looked great. BUT the double bed felt very small and we aren’t used to being in a small bed. Stayed in one of the hotel apartments which at first impression looked great. BUT the double bed felt very small and we aren’t used to being in a small bed. It was too hard for our preference and the duvet was thin and quite unpleasant. There were two shining lights in the ceiling which didn’t switch off. And they were ridiculously bright for trying to sleep. Went to the loo in the middle of the night and the only light was the main one which threw me into something akin to an operating theatre. Completely enclosed bathroom with no windows so it was truly pitch black and really needs a night light. It’s such a shame that these very fixable problems spoiled a lovely visit. Without these annoyances the room was great and had a completely separate kitchen and living room which we didn’t use but it would have enhanced the experience. We did give feedback upon checking out and the receptionist kindly removed our nightcap drink from the bill. I hope the hotel might look at these issues and sort them out.
