I really enjoy staying at this hotel. The hotel is about 30 mins from Edinburgh City centre. The hotel is a relaxing escape with a Scottish traditional charm and modern comfort. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is a buffet style with options from a menu. Overall, Dalmahoy Hotel is a quiet getaway, a golf trip, or even a short break near Edinburgh.

“Great Hotel Facilities”

Hotel facilities are excellent, the welcome from Paulo was first class, giving us a great start for our week long visit. Hotel facilities are excellent, the welcome from Paulo was first class, giving us a great start for our week long visit. In fact the staff at the hotel and golf course is a credit to this place, providing a relaxed atmosphere, helping you to relax in comfort. However, the sports bar and brasserie took the edge off of an excellent rating. The sports bar lacked nibbles to go with your beers and the Brasserie food was overpriced for the quality of food provided. Overall, I would definitely stay here again as the hotel facility is as good as you get, thank you Paulo and Steven for making us so very welcome.

Aamupala oli ihan hyvä, paljon erilaisia vaihtoehtoja mutta astiat likaisia. Kyllä sellaiseen Hyacint Bukee tunnelmaan kyllä pääsi, puitteet olivat kuitenkin aika tunnelmalliset. Palvelu ihan hyvää. Hotelli lähellä lentokenttää jonka vuoksi me tämä valittiin viimeiseksi yöksi.

I booked this place as I wanted to stay in a castle, turns out only the reception section is a castle and the rest is a white building, so that was the first disappointment but it still has beautiful surrounding areas. We first were given a room that had a brick wall for our view so we complained and they gave us a free upgrade to a better view and bigger bed which was quite nice (would have normally cost £40). The rooms were outdated, though, but not in the rustic way, just in the way where it feels like it was built in the 90s and wasn’t touched much since. The pool was lovely, but it wasn’t deep anywhere, max depth of 1.25m. The sauna and steam room was good. Breakfast was really good since we are both vegan, there were vegan sausages, pancakes with golden syrup, mushrooms, beans, bread, fruit and weetabix. The cereals weren’t labelled vegan so didn’t chance them, but they had an allergen paper that said whether they included the main allergens such as milk or soy. The coffee machine also had one spout for milk and the other for the coffee so it allowed us to use that without contamination. The service was good, everyone was polite and understanding the whole time. The part that really brought this review down is the fact that we now have bed bug bites: 5 on me, 1 on my partner. I’ve ever experienced bed bugs before and didn’t expect it from a 4 star hotel! This impacted our next day exploring Edinburgh as we were itchy and had to buy steroid cream to help. Now we’re both worried that we brought bed bugs home…
