My family and I decided to switch things up this Christmas and spend it on the Isle of Skye at the Duisdale House Hotel. We arrived to a lovely boutique style hotel that was decorated spectacularly with festive decorations on top of already stunning decor. We were warmly greeted by the lovely Joe, who took us to a cozy lounge with a roaring fire, whilst they sorted our check in. Being a family of 3 with a teen girl, an elderly Dad and a crazy sausage dog, we stayed in one of the lodges and it suited all of our needs perfectly. There was plenty space with a spectacular view and comfortable furnishings. The absolute highlight of our holiday was the food. We enjoyed a 3 course meal on Christmas Eve where we tried a variety of the options between us and every single plate was fantastic, the fussy teenager even enjoyed it. Over our 3 days, we tried most options on the breakfast menu and it was all delicious, the traditional Scottish full breakfast was a highlight. Those tattie scones were so good, I cannot stop thinking about them. I was a bit apprehensive about eating Christmas dinner away from home, every family has their own unique food traditions but I had no reason to be. The food was excellent and the portion was huge. Needless to say we were all content and comatose after, as you should be on Christmas Day. The chef was so kind and accommodating to a desire my father in law had and we are so grateful to him/them and the excellent food we indulged in. Finally the staff and the service they delivered went above and beyond. Joe always seemed to be around if we needed anything. He ran a great quiz on Boxing Day that was truly entertaining. Jason, Mia, Rory and Vishnu were also very friendly and accommodating at every moment we were there. And of course I can’t not mention Alfie behind the bar and his amazing Margaritas. Thank you Duisdale, you made it a fabulous Christmas 🎄 🎅🏻🫶🏻

This hotel gives the feel of a warm and inviting home, while delivering 5 star service and accommodations. The breakfast and dinner service was spectacular, and the highlight of my stay was sitting by the fire in the bar or lounge with a drink in the evenings - the bar staff were great at explaining the characteristics of local scotch whiskies, and the front desk and service staff were supremely friendly, sharing stories, recommendations, and anecdotes that made my time on the Isle of Skye a visit I will always remember.

“Duisdale Retreat”

Fabulous hotel. Beautiful grounds. Breakfast was not as lush as others we've had. Dinner was absolutely super. But very fancy and the only option that I saw. Too much for 2 nights in a row. We had a lovely new 'cabin' right next door to the main house.
