The grounds of this property were so well kept and really impressive on arrival. The check in process was pretty straight forward, but i was surprised that my breakfast was pre-booked for me without consideration. On this occasion this did not interfere with my plans but it is pretty unusual to arrive and be told when to have your breakfast. Our accommodation was well situated between the hotel and the leisure centre. I was disappointed with some areas of the home, the floors were scored, tiles in the bathroom under foot were loose, the furniture was scuffed and aged and the walls also showed signs of wear and tear. I fully expect self catering accommodation to show signs of wear and tear, but I just felt for the beautiful grounds the 3 bedroom lodge a public areas were a little below the standard i expected. This would not dissuade me from booking this accommodation again, we really did enjoy it.

Another enjoyable trip to Duchally - for the most part. We have visited on a number of ocassions. Its a lovely setting - and aside from enjoying besutiful perthshire its well located to visit the highlands or parts of the central belt too. The lodges are a great size and feel very comfortable. The leisure facility is decent - not a big pool but enough for a swim or splash. There is also a games room which keeps the kids entertained. We didnt eat in the restuarant on this ocassion - but did eat in the bar, which is a relaxed atmosphere. The food was ok - we thought it was a bit on the expensive side. Pros: -Good value for money (except bar food per note above) -Great location -Big lodges, including very good sized bedrooms -Leisure facility & games room on site -Attentive and friendly staff. Cons: -Lodge was showing signs of being tired in places - there were a few problems (many more than previous visits). However, maintenenance staff were quick to respond and so some of these were resolved promptly during our stay. I am told there is a refurbishment programme, which is encouraging. -No central heating in lodge. Panel heaters ok but inadequate in one of the bedrooms and ensuite. -No smart tv in lodge - not in keeping with modern times e.g. being able to use netflix. -Cleanliness good on the whole (overall site) but there were cobwebs in one of the lodge bedrooms, so I had to go round the entire room on arrival with a (provided) duster to sort out ..not great. -Games room had faulty equipment throughout stay - including brand new equipment only just installed. We look forward to returning at some point - would still recommend despite the issues mentioned. Hopefully the refurbishment programme delivers some improvements that were evidently needed based on this visit.

We have been visiting Duchally Estate for 10+ years and have always loved coming here to relax and recharge. We have already stayed twice this year – once in January and again this month. We originally started a timeshare many years ago with CLC World Resorts & Hotels, which we still have. To make the most of it, we decided to start using it more often by visiting what is now Wyndham Duchally Country Estate, especially as it is not too far for us to travel with a baby. Unfortunately, during our January stay the lodge was not very clean when we arrived. We raised this with reception and, to be fair, the cleaners came back to clean the lodge and the staff offered us a complimentary lunch, which we appreciated. However, when we returned this month we were really hoping the issues would have improved, but sadly the situation was the same, if not worse. There were a number of cleanliness and maintenance issues including dust throughout the lodge, dirty floors, blinds covered in dust, and mould on the kitchen cupboard doors. Some of the paintwork was also coming off the cupboards, which was concerning, particularly as we were staying with a young baby. The oven was difficult to use as the dials were completely rubbed off and it was not heating properly. We also noticed that the PAT testing appeared to be out of date. Underneath the beds there was a thick build-up of dust, as though they had not been moved or cleaned underneath for a considerable amount of time. What was particularly concerning was that one of the bedrooms had two single beds which we had requested to be made into a double. This required the cleaners to move the beds in order to set them up, and the amount of dust visible once the beds had been moved was very noticeable. It was surprising and concerning that this was not identified during the cleaning process. Another issue was the stair gate. I contacted reception as we noticed there was only a stair gate at the top of the stairs and none at the bottom. The staff member was quick to tell me that none of the lodges have stair gates at the bottom of the stairs, which was not accurate as the lodge we stayed in back in January did have one. We were then advised that maintenance would come out to install one for us. There were also no cleaning supplies in the lodge other than a bottle of washing-up liquid. When we stayed in January and raised the cleanliness concerns, we asked for some cleaning products and a spray was provided. However, during this stay when we asked again, we were told by reception that staff were not allowed to provide cleaning products. After discovering several of these issues, I spoke directly with a manager to raise our concerns and explained that we had experienced similar problems during our January visit. I made it clear that we were not looking for compensation such as a complimentary lunch, but simply wanted to highlight that the condition of the lodge was not acceptable. Initially I was unsure about moving lodges (as there was a lot to move with a baby and we considered purchasing cleaning products ourselves and dealing with the situation). However, after discovering mould on the kitchen cupboards and the paintwork coming off the cupboard doors, we felt it was unsafe to remain there with a baby present. We were moved to a different lodge the following morning, which was noticeably cleaner, although still not quite to the standard we would expect. The lodges themselves also feel quite dated and appear largely unchanged from when we first started visiting many years ago. While the lodge we were moved to had some newer photographs added to the décor, the accommodation would benefit from more substantial updating. It is disappointing to write this because we genuinely love coming here and it has always been a wonderful place for us to relax and recharge, something I also emphasised to the manager. However, the current standards of cleanliness and the response from staff are unfortunately letting down what could otherwise be a fantastic place to stay. The attitude from staff members did not come across as though they wanted to help and it felt as though our concerns were more of an inconvenience rather than something they genuinely wanted to assist with.
