“Three day break”

Had three days at the hotel found the guy at reception very helpful, he also did the breakfast which was plentiful and tasty. Had three days at the hotel found the guy at reception very helpful, he also did the breakfast which was plentiful and tasty. Hotel clean with nice communal areas and our room was a good size, no complaints at all and would return if located anywhere else!! Unfortunately life could almost be pronounced extinct in respect of Hawick, its past the point of resuscitation and is an utter hole. Many of the business premises are shut, many of the bars were closed during our stay as were the restaurants take my advice keep driving as places like Melrose and Peebles are worth a visit.

“Lovely, clean hotel.”

Beautiful hotel located just outside the main town. Our hotel room was beautifully decorated and clean and tidy. One of the comfiest beds I’ve ever slept on! The owners are lovely and talked us through everything we needed to know on arrival, when we mentioned we would be out late one of the nights… lisää

Beautiful hotel located just outside the main town. Our hotel room was beautifully decorated and clean and tidy. One of the comfiest beds I’ve ever slept on! The owners are lovely and talked us through everything we needed to know on arrival, when we mentioned we would be out late one of the nights we were staying they let us know how we could get back into the hotel. The only downside was the noise, due to it being an older building the walls were quite thin and you could hear people walking about and talking, however, my partner had ear plugs and didn’t notice a thing and slept through the night fine. We would absolutely stay here again if we are ever back in Scotland. Thank you for a lovely stay.

“1 night”

I booked a dog friendly room for 1 night, when I arrived, i was informed by Dave the room was not dog friendly. That the booking. Com had booked the cheapest room, this was not dog friendly! I was offered the lodge 1, for an additional £45, I asked if a reduction could be made, as to my knowledge … lisää

I booked a dog friendly room for 1 night, when I arrived, i was informed by Dave the room was not dog friendly. That the booking. Com had booked the cheapest room, this was not dog friendly! I was offered the lodge 1, for an additional £45, I asked if a reduction could be made, as to my knowledge I only had to pay £10 towards cleaning for my dog. Dave said I could pay £25. Which i paid. The lodge, was large, but basic, the mattress thin and lumpy. There was no curtain at the bathroom window. Limited tea / coffee offerings. Sue the wife if Dave, said there was an enclosed dog field, this had massive gaps in the fencing therefore I couldn't let my dog off. Breakfast was OK. Staff were lovely. I showed Bob the Chef the correspondence from Balcary hotel re my booking, he insisted dog friendly rooms were £175 per night. That i had paid £25 for an upgrade, even though i hadn't asked for an upgrade. As the hotel staff have stated it's a fault with booking. Com. I have contacted them. I don't feel that thus hotel is a 4 star more of a 3 star

After an unpromising and rather grudging welcome, we found the room to be spotlessly clean, very comfortable, and having everything we could require. Having read on the website that bar snacks were available from 6.00 - 8.00pm, we enquired, and were told, by the gentleman on the reception desk: "You'll have to hurry up, because I'm going at half past 6.30." The quality of the bar snacks provided was barely adequate. In total contrast, the quality of both welcome, and food provided at breakfast could NOT be faulted - some of the best black pudding ever - thanks Chef!
