“Amazing food and wonderful service”

Just had christmas lunch with 5 friends. I cannot rate this enough. The food was absolutely amazing followed by the most delicious dessert. The service was friendly and efficient. We all agreed we could not have enjoyed this any more than we did and looking forward to our next meal there. Well done… lisää

“A very good choice”

We very much enjoyed our stay at The Black Lion. A pub that mixes traditional and modern, it is well-priced, friendly, and comfortable. Access to the rooms is up a long straight set of stairs. We very much enjoyed our stay at The Black Lion. A pub that mixes traditional and modern, it is well-priced, friendly, and comfortable. Access to the rooms is up a long straight set of stairs. We had a standard double room and found it well sized and nicely decorated, although our room overlooked a roof (other reviewers have noted some rooms with lovely views over the Green). Breakfast was excellent, and the pub, although we didn’t use it, looked great. Location-wise, The Black Lion is across the road from the National Trust’s Melford Hall, and 2 minutes from lovely Holy Trinity Church with its small collection of medieval stained glass. Some parking spots are available on the property, with more on nearby streets or on the Green across the road.

“Great place to stay in Suffolk”

Amazing food, drinks, service and rooms. Highly recommend a visit and stay over. Comfortable and stylish rooms in a great location.

We’ve just had 2 nights here in Room Six We were greeted by a lovely young girl and the manager Our room was right at the top of the building ,it was a stunning room with views over the green. It was a very hot stay but there was a large fan .Sadly the duvet were winter weight and we struggled … lisää

We’ve just had 2 nights here in Room Six We were greeted by a lovely young girl and the manager Our room was right at the top of the building ,it was a stunning room with views over the green. It was a very hot stay but there was a large fan .Sadly the duvet were winter weight and we struggled to sleep the first night . We bought a sheet and slept better the next night . On checking into our room the bathroom blind pulls coil was on the bathroom floor . Staff must of known it was broken .It was never repaired while we there A big concern is both nights at the start of daylight we were woken by noises in the roof . It may of been birds ,bats or squirrels . We told staff first morning but guess it wasn’t easy to sort at short notice Food was decent but expensive and first night a few things off the menu . Staff are lovely and very friendly
