“The Saint George room - fabulous !!”

We were in the The Saint George room, for my lovely wife’s 50th with friends & family. Olly looked after us brilliantly!! The food was fabulous - thanks to the chef & team. A great space for dining and chilling in the private garden with a a few glasses of many things cold

“Great pub with great food”

My second visit here this year. A great rambling pub with a collection of eclectic pictures, paraphernalia, old style school desks etc. …and it’s a Fullers pub. My second visit here this year. A great rambling pub with a collection of eclectic pictures, paraphernalia, old style school desks etc. …and it’s a Fullers pub. We both had the menu of the day, great value. The starter of “monkfish scampi” (so not really scampi) was fresh, meaty and crisp. We are not vegetarian, however we both opted for the cauliflower pave with hazelnuts. Cauliflower still had a good bite, could have packed a bit more flavour. The pub wasn’t that full and it did take quite a time to get our main course. We were not in a rush and the service was very friendly. We were too full for dessert, shame. Maybe next time.

Ok this might be a long one sorry I see what they are trying to do with the room but there were so many details missed that I just don’t think the value was there. We stayed two nights in the Garden Suite and this is the list of things that annoyed me lol: Had to walk through someone’s private party to get to and from the suite - super awkward Downstairs room smelt of cigarette smoke in morning someone smoking in the shared space outside the room Water in the fridge but no glasses Milk isn’t fresh some kind of long life stuff in bottles - the room looks into the outdoor storeroom (which was open all night and day…) where you can see milk is kept at room temp (heatwave?) Super loud extractor fan in bathroom which you can’t turn off without turning the lights off Shelf above the sink installed upside down Scapes and nicks across many of the walls Non working light in the shower Hot water takes forever to kick in and the water pressure is consistently low in the shower Shelf in the shower hanging out of the wall making it basically useless Unclean tiled area around shower Shower floor covered in weird sticky stuff Plastic label tag left on bedside lamp Bedside lamps bulbs odd brightness Literally the only tv channel with signal is ITV Bed is v creaky Front door doesn’t fit doorframe, good luck if you’re here during winter V quiet and weird vibe in the pub Pros: Decent breakfast Free bits in minibar Free parking for hotel guests Nice Sunday roast Provided a fan and air con unit in the room
