“An incredibly wonderful hotel”

Isrotel took an old 4 story block of flats and converted into a beautiful hotel. Rooms were small but very comfortable. Bed excellent. Sufficient electric points by the beds. Coffee and tea makers. Cable TV with a remote that works :) Dinner at night was fabulous all kinds of beef chicken and fish and a huge array of fresh salads and desserts and soup buffet style. Delicious! Same can be said about the variety and freshness of breakfast, including salads, all kinds of eggs including an omelet chef, and cheese and chocolate cakes. Highly recommended. A word about the indoor pool. There is nowhere to take a warm shower before or after a swim in the chlorinated pool. Just a cold open shower near the pool unsuitable for winter. Also need a charging room.

The hotel has undergone a renovation, the building has been renovated and the service has improved even more than before. The hotel's location is excellent for trips to the Ramon Crater area.

Such a mixed bag here. On the surface the hotel looks lovely. There is a really nice seating area on the main floor with a fireplace and lots of couches and tables. Such a mixed bag here. On the surface the hotel looks lovely. There is a really nice seating area on the main floor with a fireplace and lots of couches and tables. The room itself is nice to look at. But…so many issues. The rooms are small. There is a small couch, like a loveseat, with a round table. But there is no dresser or desk and no luggage stand, probably because there is no floor space to put it on. So there’s nowhere to put the suitcases other than on the round table and the couch, which means you can’t really use them. There is so little floor space that putting open suitcases on the floor would leave you nowhere to walk. The bathroom has a good shower but the lighting is dim. We had two rounds of room keys not working and kept having to go up and down the stairs back to the front desk. The heat did not work in our room though eventually it was fixed. The hotel has WiFi but the WiFi does not work in the seating area by the fireplace, which is right around the corner from the front desk. The WiFi worked in the room but there was nowhere to sit in the room other than the couch with the suitcase on it. The hotel has something like 8 elevators. The elevator itself was frigid as was the hallway on our floor. The lobby area by the fireplace was toasty if you didn’t mind not having WiFi. I asked twice about this issue and was more or less shrugged off. I thought the food was good. The staff kept us continually supplied with pitchers of ice water, which we appreciated. I’m a vegetarian and found it difficult to determine what I could eat at dinner. The staff at the buffet serving line spoke neither English nor Hebrew. But the sous chef was super nice and offered to make me a tofu dish, which was delicious. Just indicating which dishes are vegetarian would be an easy thing to do and helpful. At the hot section of the buffet there was a list in Hebrew of the dishes but it was hard to tell which was which, and then one night the list didn’t match what was actually being served. And nowhere did it list the ingredients in the dishes. At this point I wouldn’t recommend the hotel. It has great potential but until some of these issues can be resolved it’s not worth the price.

“Update way overdue”

The staff was fantastic. The breakfast was great. But the rooms are disgusting. I could not even shower here. Everything was old, worn & dirty. No elevators. Carried bags up 2 flights. Can’t believe this is the same hotel that runs Beresheet down the road. An update is way over due.
