Nice affordable classic hotel located next to the beautiful lake in Scanno. The continental breakfast was a bit sparse.

We only ate here and the meal was mixed. I ordered pasta and it was lovely. My husband had a pasta dish and a secondi and was disappointed with the main. His pasta was also great but the pork came with under cooked, cold potatoes and was just ok. We asked for a side salad but got some green vegetables on his pork plate instead. However desserts were then great, as was the wine. Overall a nice meal with a good view, but maybe stick to the pasta and desserts!

My husband and I were on a day trip to Lago Scanno and thought we’d treat ourselves to a nice lunch at the hotel restaurant. We both had pasta alla chitarra, one pepe e caccio, the other amatricciana. We enjoyed our dishes, and the service was ok - slow, but we weren’t rushing, so it was ok. However, the restaurant didn’t have paper menus - you had to use a smart phone to look them up via a QR code. That’s ok for most people nowadays, I guess, but not for an elder couple sitting nearby. And the ludicrous thing was that, while the hotel had WiFi, they only provided the password to people staying at the hotel. So, as overseas tourists, having to pay for our data downloads, it didn’t feel like a very attractive or sensible proposition. This won’t be on our list of places to return to next year.

The location of this hotel is very nice because it sits next to Lago di Scanno, which is a beautiful and tranquil blue-green lake. But the hotel really could use a renovation. Many public areas are worn out looking, the tennis court looked abandoned, parking was very tight, and it did not appear that many rooms had good views of the surrounding scenery. Our room was very dark inside, although it had a window in the bathroom and a window in the bedroom. We had a parital view of the lake but it was not a very good one. The room seemed very outdated and the blanket on the bed looked like something from the 1980's - we wondered how often it gets laundered. This hotel could be much better if they renovated the rooms with light colors and bigger windows to let the sunlight in. The furniture could also use updating. The positive of this hotel was the wonderful staff. Everyone we dealt with was incredibly friendly, professional and helpful.
