“Great base for a week's skiing”

We had a great week skiing here, the rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. Shutter to keep out the light also helped to ensure a good night's sleep. There's superb views of mountains and the town from the front-facing rooms with balconies. Skiing is made easy with a ski room for gear in the basement, and a shuttle (a wee minivan) to take you to the Col Rodella lift and bring you back in the evening. The brand new (December 2025) Col Rodella lift seems to have made a real difference to Campitello as a choice for the Sella Ronda: previous reports have covered long queues to get up to the slops however the increased uplift capacity really seems to work. Food at Stella Montis was excellent, with good buffet variety for breakfast and choice of table service dishes every night at dinner (plus "vegetable buffet": in reality treated as a self-service anti-pasta course). The sauna/steam room/relation spa area was really good too, great place to relax after a hard day's skiing. All the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The only very slightly negative comment I would have is that the bar was unstaffed before dinner time - someone usually came along eventually, but perhaps you'd be better off getting any pre-dinner drinks in town.

“Excellent”

Fantastic place, not many wasps or hornets, although there were some shredders lurking around the pool. Highly recommend this place though as a solo and I am sure it would be equally as good as trio

An outstanding hotel in a beautiful location. Spacious rooms, bathrooms, and balconies—perfect for ski gear. The food was excellent, with plenty of choices. We were always stuffed! The spa was a fantastic treat after skiing. The ski shuttle was punctual and reliable, getting us to the Campitello cable car on time each morning. The staff were incredibly kind and always willing to help. Special thanks to the restaurant staff and ski shuttle drivers! Our only complaint was another party staying at the hotel—a ski club of 50+ individuals. They dominated meal times, cut in queues, and showed little respect for other guests. Aside from this, everything else was perfect. We highly recommend Hotel Stella Montis but suggest they reconsider hosting such large groups, as it affected the experience for other guests.

This is a good 3 star hotel and is priced accordingly. Positives are comfortable beds with good linen and towels and friendly staff. This is a good 3 star hotel and is priced accordingly. Positives are comfortable beds with good linen and towels and friendly staff. The breakfast and dinner are good 3 star level, but definitely not the quality you would expect in a four star hotel. If you miss the last shuttle at 5.30pm, you have a long walk uphill in ski boots. Most people used the stairs as the lift was so small and so slow. The reception and bar area has the feel of a bus station waiting room.
