“Great rooms, great views, tiny lift”

Stayed here for 5 days in December on a Travelsphere holiday. The hotel is a long drive from Venice, where we landed, but on entering our room we forgot the annoyance of travels. Our room, 207, was huge, well decorated and with a pretty canopy bed. We had views over the town ice rink and on to the mountains where we strolled later. Room had a comfy sofa, fridge, big shower enclosure and was serviced every day by friendly ladies. We had a big balcony but it was too chilly to sit out! Our deal was half board. Breakfast every day was good with not only lots of cold options but usually a couple of hot items too. The only minor irritation was the slow delivery of hot drinks from the coffee machine. With lots of tea drinking Brits there a couple of kettles or an urn would have speeded things up. Dinner was always tasty with a soup course, pasta, salad, main and dessert. The salad selection was a bit limited, maybe because there is less available in winter. There is a lift but it is very small and slow. We took the stairs mostly but used it to get our luggage up and down to our room. In summary this is a lovely small chalet hotel with helpful staff and we would happily spend more time here.

“Good value-for-money in a scenic valley”

We stayed here for 5 nights over Christmas, as part of a group tour. The hotel is amazing value-for-money - if we had booked direct it would have cost us under €70 a night for half-board, and I've taken that price into account in the review. The room alone was worth that with a very comfortable bed and a functional shower-room, lovely views from the balconies and very cosy with temperature controls in the room being very efficient and responsive. The rooms were spotlessly clean. The juice and coffee at breakfast were not great, but there was a good range of food, and the included dinners varied from barely adequate to excellent. WiFi is free, but only works in the reception/lounge area - it isn't available in the rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful, though their English was very limited. I'd happily return here.

“Nice hotel”

Only option available in the region, I had no option but to stay here for one night. It's a nice hotel, run by a family. The room was good, with a nice view from the mountains. Only option available in the region, I had no option but to stay here for one night. It's a nice hotel, run by a family. The room was good, with a nice view from the mountains. The bathroom has a good space and the shower was very nice. One thing to notice:only one employee spoke English. The hotel has a restaurant (again, almost the only option in town), with a fixed price menu. The city is beautiful, but I was in a off-season time of the year, almost everything was closed or remodeling. If you ever come to this area, avoid coming in the off-season.

We travelled recently to the Hotel Sass Moer with Travelsphere on a Christmas 2 centre break. The hotel itself was typical alpine decor, lots of wood and cosy. There is a bar area with tables and chairs, no settees, but pleasant enough staff serving drinks.We did think it was strange in an area of pine forests that the hotel chose to have only two artificial trees in its main areas. The bedrooms are also cosy, very clean and quite adequate for a short stay. Sadly the only let down was the dining experience, I wouldn't wish to call it a restaurant. Everything about it was badly managed. The ambience, tables arranged like railway carriages, and bright lights were not conducive to a comfortable experience. Guests were equipped with pencil and next day's menu each night at their table, where dining 24hrs ahead had to be decided by ticking the appropriate courses required - this is a holiday not the NHS.One got to feel this was for the convenience of the staff and not the guest. As to the food, we had never had such (continuously bad) meals, be it breakfast or dinner. Every night we had "roast potatoes with meat or fish, no other vegetable, and all totally ruined in their cooking and presentation. The waitresses positively threw the plate at you, and each course came in very quick succession, a 3 course meal could be over in less than an hour. Choices at breakfast were very limited, with the offer only of fried or scrambled eggs, which often arrived before we had finished our cereal. I note that a previous review remarks about the lack of a toaster, but in its place was a sandwich maker. Highly dangerous, as it was left open when not in use, exposing two red hot plates for anyone to burn themselves on, especially children. Would I recommend this hotel? If it could do major changes in the dining room, and teach the kitchen staff how to cook and present food, probably. The rest of the hotel is adequate, but with the present food experience I would have to think twice about that.
