“Hidden Gem”

The B&B HOTEL in Genoa is a modern hotel located on a quiet side street in downtown Genoa. It is very close to shopping, the old town and a train station. The staff, especially Olmo, were very helpful. The breakfast is very good and offers a wide selection of food.

“Good city centre hotel”

This was a well located hotel, with decent breakfast options ( continental). The room was comfortable but the noise transfer between rooms was really poor.

“Nice room, noisy neighbours”

Spent three nights here at the end of May. We took the train from Milan and after arriving at Brignole station it was a ten minute walk to find the hotel. Spent three nights here at the end of May. We took the train from Milan and after arriving at Brignole station it was a ten minute walk to find the hotel. The reception is unusually located on the top floor, and after a very friendly and efficient check-in we took the lift to the our room on the third floor. The room was not particularly large but was fine for our needs. The bed was large and comfortable, and there was a good amount of storage space for clothes. There was a good quality TV with a range of channels, excellent Wi-Fi, a fridge and an easy to use safe which we made use of. There was no tea and coffee making facilities provided, though you were able to buy food and drink at vending machines in reception. The bathroom was immaculate and well designed, with an excellent shower and good quality shampoo and shower gel provided. Our towels weren't changed during our stay, which wasn't an issue as they dried very quickly, but as the hotel talks a lot about its environmental credentials it seems that the default is not to change them unless a guess specifically asked. This commitment to sustainability may also be why the soundproofing in the hotel was not great- we could easily hear the guests in the room above walking around (and for some reason continually moving furniture), and also when our neighbours next door flushed the toilet. We also had a lot of disturbance from other guests on our floor- there were a number of young Americans who were presumed were jetlagged and stayed up until 4am, and the noise from them chatting in their rooms and banging doors was quite irritating. The hotel offers breakfast but we ate out each day at the Douce cafe which was a few minutes walk away. It is also well located for Piazza Ferrari and the Centro Storico where there are wide range of restaurants, bars and cafes- we particularly enjoyed having a spritz each evening at the Caffe del Treatro. Being close to the Brignole station also meant it was easy to do day trips to other parts of the region, and we visited Sestri Levante, Portofino and Camogli during our stay. B&B Genova City Center was a convenient place to stay for our trip to Genoa- we had a nice room but the noise from other guests meant we would probably not stay here again.
