“Simply perfect”

Beautiful place, very nice environment, friendly stuff, clean rooms with air conditioners. Close to Mantova, only 4 km, but very quite. It is the right place both for famalies and for romantic holidays in a couple.

I have read some of the reviews and can say i feel quite protective about this place; my husband and I came here as part of our 12 day 'mini tour' of Italy. The first impressions were incredible, a lovely converted monestry and working watermill dating back to 1420. We were welcomed with open arms and whilst the sleeping quarters are basic, they are well appointed, clean and well kept. I personally have many many issues with mucky places and poor hygiene. The breakfast was great. Bikes are provided and it is a short ride to the magnificant town centre where there's plenty to visit and lots of cafe's with wonderful meals to experience; I fell in love with their pumpkin pasta (I'm a veggie). The enviroment lends itself perfectly to exploring on a bike and is not at all hard work. There is a small pizza place across the main road from this location which I would also recommend :-) We extended our stay as it was ever so peaceful and would go back in a blink! Thank you to the team at Girolamo!

“Beautiful relaxing location and very clean rooms”

Found this in the dark without a problem (once we read directions) and had nice breakfasts with good fresh food. Rooms look like a stable block, but inside are very spacious and comfortable. Nice to walk around.

We stayed a week here in early June. It is easy to get to by car from Verona Airport, from other directions it could be tricky for the first time. We stayed a week here in early June. It is easy to get to by car from Verona Airport, from other directions it could be tricky for the first time. About 1.5 miles outside Mantova, which is walkable or, much better, cyclable. You can cycle into Mantua without going on a public road except for a tiny bit just before you cross the bridge. The facilities and terrain for cycling in the area are great, and we are not exactly keen cyclists. There are bikes available free from the agriturismo. It is quite popular with cyclists because it lies on the cycle path to Lake Garda. A very warm welcome when we arrived, some good advice as to where to go. The accommodation is part of a working farm, previously a monastery site, growing mostly fruit and rice from what we could see. The bedrooms are a modern block - good size rooms, not luxurious but very good, a fridge in the room would have been nice. Good breakfast with local produce, later in the season there would have been more of their own fruit available. Really very nice spot. There could be problems with biting insects in this area, not particularly this agriturismo but because of the flat terrain and all the water, so come prepared for that particularly later in the season. There is a whole lot to see in Mantova, which is not overrun with tourists at all. Parking in the city is difficult but easy enough outside the centre. There are two good, popular restaurants next to each other within a 15-minute walk of the agriturismo, it is not necessary to go into Mantova to eat, and there are a couple of huge supermarkets nearby as well.
