We stayed at one of the “Diffusa” boutique apartments, located right on the market square. The apartment was huge, modern, and extremely comfortable. We stayed at one of the “Diffusa” boutique apartments, located right on the market square. The apartment was huge, modern, and extremely comfortable. Nicely decorated, well equipped kitchen (Smeg fridge and dishwasher, Illy coffee machine) lovely bathroom with Jacuzzi in the bedroom. A nice plus was the terrace overlooking the clock tower which had a great view and was really excellent for a relaxing glass of wine in the evening. Breakfast can be brought to you to the room (you can order the night before via a tablet they give you) but I suggest going to the hotel (5 mins walking) where you can enjoy the spectacular buffet (freshly squeezed juices, cakes, croissants, yogurt, ham, cheese, eggs cooked to order and everything you can think of really!). Free parking in the car park 2 mins walking from the apartment. I hope to be back again one day, highly recommended.

“Perfect Escape”

After reading all the positive reviews on TA I can only agree. After reading all the positive reviews on TA I can only agree. A small hotel with modern design and warm and gracious staff and I am not saying this because I was upgraded to a suite with a whirlpool on the balcony. The room was modern yet comfortable, with walk-in shower and a bidet in the bathroom, a very fancy coffeemaker in the living area, flatscreen TV, safe, and a large balcony with a wonderful view over the lake and the vineyards. Breakfast was included and what a treat is was each morning! Another fancy coffee maker, juicer (you can pick your ingredients and they make it for you), and a made to order omelette/pancake station. In addition to that fresh fruit, fruit salad, a large arrangement of local cheeses and meats, bread and rolls, and should you have any space left there are sweet treats as well. Next to the breakfast room is a little Vinothek with local wines to take back to your room. In room amenities include a tablet available for your stay programmed to give info on the room, hotel and town, big white, fluffy robes, hairdryer and a large umbrella (which came in handy at my stay). As mentioned before the staff were really lovely, a big shout-out to Vera at the reception, she gave great advice on where to eat, made a reservation at a Michelin Star restaurant and organized a same day massage. All in all a really nice stay and I definitely will be back. My only minus has less to do with the hotel and more with the other guests, a German family with really loud and whiny kids made me think about the comment of another poster about not having too many kids because it can get too loud - maybe just go to a no kids policy to preserve the sanity of other guests?

The GIUS la Residenza offers very interesting rooms, a great breakfast and friendly staff. As there are only 9 suits/rooms, the atmosphere is very familial. Facilities include a spa area with a very clean and nice sauna and pool. The staff immediately offered their support, when we needed a taxi or restaurant reservations. When asking the owner, whether rooms with beds for kids (ours did not offer this option, but this was not necessary, as we were happy to travel alone the first time since our older son was borne 8 years ago) would also be available, she confirmed this. But she also informed us that it is her policy that not more than three rooms would be rent out to families, as too many kids visiting the hotel at the same time, usually cause a certain raise in sound levels. Great hotel, great vacation!
